Profi 3+
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Sergey Cvetkov → To All 6 December 1997
Greetings to all Specky fans!
To make it clear what I mean, I’ll say a few words about myself.
My acquaintance with the Spectrum took place somewhere in 93-94.
I lived in Stavropol at that time. In my opinion, I purchased the Vesta information complex for 25-30 thousand (have you heard of this?), the thing is simply amazing ;-) A tiny plastic case in which the 48 Spectrum board stood, the whole thing was equipped with a rubber keyboard with small buttons, pressing which for 30-40 minutes your fingers simply withered. I don’t mention such options as port #FF, normal INT
for obvious reasons.
My study of the basics of programming began with this device.
Because. Before that, I had been sitting at BK00-10 for some time and was generally friends with
Fokal, I quickly understood Basic Specky, then my first glances towards
machine codes and Assembly...
After some time, I moved to Yekaterinburg and at the beginning of 96. I
bought the "Profi 3+" board ver.5.03. I’ll say right away - I was simply in ecstasy over it: FDD appeared!!!, a bunch of all sorts of peripherals, 1MB. RAM, super-turbo
mode, etc. etc...
Everything would have been fine, but now I had a modem, I started surfing the BBKs on my
Profi, and there were files, files, files... Everything was in the archives.
And then I had to face a very powerful problem - the lack of new
archivers for the Pro CP/M, and plus a letter from the authorterminals
for Pros under CP/M which says that Pros in Moscow DIED...
And most importantly - not a single Spectrumist in the BBS on a regular Z-80.
My “joy” had no end. And so I collect 386, get a Fido address
and am surprised to see Echo ZX.SPECTRUM!!!!!! What is this, is there still gunpowder in the flasks?
Of course I have a lot of questions right away:
1. Is anyone else doing Pro? After all, conceptually this
is a cool machine!
2. How was the problem with archiving/unarchiving solved?
3. I heard about the ZX-net network in Moscow and St. Petersburg, who cares
tell us more about it.
4. And in general, I will be glad to hear any opinions about the ZX-Spectrum.
Well, it looks like I wrote everything I wanted, now it’s your turn!

I have a diagram of connecting to the Pro keyboard from IBM XT, if necessary
I can draw it.
And one more thing, could you send me a point list of the Old Polish stations,
and your Kent is straight, as I understand how he relates to ZX-net?
And if he doesn’t mind, let him tell you in more detail what he does on
Pro. What P.O. in use.
Waiting for your response.

I am not the author of the terminal. Author of the terminal package: Max Volkonovsky aka
MaxWolf, 2:5020/299. I just remade the terminal for a color profile.

My opinion is: cool car! And your Pro can easily be revived by replacing the built-in software. As soon as I unload from
study and solve the problem of placing a second computer on the table ;-)), I will continue to work on my OS. At least, I hope that I will not completely lose the desire to do it. According to the plan, it should support
hardware extensions of different machines in the same way (as on the Amiga), making
absolutely incompatible things compatible.

PF> I haven’t seen it.
Is it cool in St. Petersburg??? Have you seen the software? The only thing that was done properly was the terminal, and everything else... By hand, my friend, by hand. There is no mail editor. BBS has already compromised itself completely after one person removed _all_ soap from the hub, and userlists with passwords for all points from all stations. in SPBZXNET.GENERAL there was information about a glitch in bbsk, using which
you can completely control it (for example, force calls to Australia all night).
And you say - cool.
Sincerely, CAPTAIN/56.

Hi All!
I recently subscribed to this echo, so I ask you not to kick me too hard for questions
which may be either off-topic or Chaynikov’s, since in a week
I haven’t seen any rules or facs here.
And my questions are:
are there converters between the .z80 .tap and .$ formats?
is there an echo file somewhere on ftp speckie (bbs.ogo.ru not
offer - not there are they allowed)?
What kind of ftp are there with spec software?
Can anyone share the boot files for tr-dos?
From Vsevolod Potapov → To All 22 December 1997
why not :) come on, let him call me - phone 02-67680024 call Seva
:)))))
in my opinion the software is quite cool because of this (hehe)

I was very pleased with him. Of course, it’s a little slow, but only in comparison with
the Pentagon and not in my case, I have two temporary huts there - Pent and a branded one (well
judging by Western multicolors). Well, mega memory, turbo mode 7-14 MHz,
stereocovox and tricks with pages are hard to underestimate... Although with the processor
we were a little unlucky - out (c),0 ;(

I liked the fact that my mouse did not require blocking
internal ports to work. And in the rest computers, even in such
major with sophisticated decryption as Scorpio - blocking was
simply necessary... Plus, the pro had an original design, and
the ability to upgrade to a button: pro/scorpio. Moreover, in the
scorpion mode, compatibility with the software was better than that. the scorpion itself.
DG> How is it? No, well, the port did not appear by chance ;)
but there was no port. In the original spec, the latest displayed screen data is read from any
non-existent port.
Essentially, this is a bug, but it was used for good.
Good Luck...

For Pro, it seems that this port was intended as a modification for greater
compatibility of the computer with the original speckie.

I don’t argue. What doesn’t make me happy is that you have a mandatory controller

I did it, but it didn’t work. So I hushed it all up. I tried a lot to work with the modem - all to no avail. Apparently even I’m a mediocre programmer. :-(((

2 hours?! 15 minutes maximum. The theme is simple: 1 LA2 (8 and no), some thread
LL1 + IP22. All. the first ones are for decoding, and ir 22 is soldered on top.
that's all. 2 hours is a lot for such a rework.
