ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Andrew Savichev To All 16 January 1998

Hi, All!

Brothers...I just learned about a charity project, it would be a good idea for everyone to
take note... and for those who are somehow connected with ZXNET, they can
do a real good deed, for which they will be rewarded in heaven...
In general, such things...
A certain kind uncle came up with a way to brighten up the severe loneliness of sick children,
moreover, to disabled children.
Give them computers (Bim-bom, of course, not an Amiga) and “connect them to the network”,
those who have a telephone socket.
But alas...dreams are dreams, but the damned reality...in a word, for
a hundred people in need there are currently 2-3 computers and mostly “garbage” twos or threes
pecish, best if black and brown 386sx Laptops.
Both 2400 modems and Internet providers are in no hurry to give
time online and even offline too :( Therefore, they make local on one
server in St. Petersburg, but on this network there will only be people like themselves.
You yourself understand what kind of software there is nowadays for triples and for doubles.
Or maybe Among us there will be people with a generous soul and ZXNET will accept them into its
embraces? And our people have a lot of young, healthy enthusiasm.
And keep in mind, there are many intellectuals among them and who knows, maybe among them there are hidden undisclosed Rodionovs, Matveevs, Mednonogovs, Kharitonovs.
Or maybe some Russian Spectrum super-megacoder?
So maybe? Anyone find hardware and software for thesegoals?
Are there those among us who are able to give a piece of their heart to their
peers, whose soul is weighed down in a sick body?
What do you say, my dears?

With respect, Andrey Savichev /CGS
