Shipping zx-goods between St. Petersburg and Moscow...

ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Andrew Savichev To All 4 January 1998

Hi, All!
>
> SZ> As for Hard-a, it’s better to pay directly from us
>
> How to pay? Money in an envelope? I'm not crazy. ;-)
The problem of payments is very simple to solve, especially if these are mutual payments:
it is necessary to establish SNB (Spectrum Net Bank), based on a system of mutual settlements,
and once a quarter the party having a deficit (St. Petersburg or Moscow) will send money by courier
. Those. we need two honest people (one in St. Petersburg, the other
in Moscow), who have something of the Swiss bankers in their character and a person
who travels from St. Petersburg to Moscow at least 4 times a year. I mean
of course "transfers" are about $500 per quarter. If it turns out that they are an order of magnitude
more, then you can come up with something more interesting.
The same person could transport light parcels with goods, up to a pound in weight,
if the gentlemen “bankers” agreed to tinker with them.
Well, if we were to extend this system (preliminarily adjusted between
Moscow and St. Petersburg) to other large cities Kharkov, Perm, Samara, Nizhny) -
that would be a very good non-virtual reinforcement of network trading.

If this proposal is of interest to anyone, please discuss it further,
since we are talking about money.

Have a good hunt for everyone! AndreyС.

2PF: Pasha, pay the Moscow representative of the company. Just don’t ask
again who it is ;)

AS> The problem of payments is very easy to solve, especially if these payments

And that’s roughly how it’s done now, only it’s called differently - “with
a guide” ;)

AS> Happy hunting everyone! Andrey S.

This is unlikely to be done centrally... And who would want to trust their money to someone else's
uncle, even an honest one. Or disclose your commercial connections...

AS> and once a quarter the party that has a deficit (St. Petersburg or Moscow) will send money with
AS> courier.

Here the deficit will clearly be only on one side :))

AS> pre-established between Moscow and St. Petersburg) to other large
AS> cities of Kharkov, Perm, Samara, Nizhny) - then it would be thought very
AS> not bad non-virtual reinforcement of network trade.

Something similar has been in active use for a long time - i.e., for example, the distribution
of XL-Design products, the distribution of Scorpio products...

As it turned out, using _only_ this echo, it is possible to establish communication with
the following cities (* - already established):

Rostov-on-Don (*)
Donetsk (*)
Ekaterinburg (*?)
Nizhny Novgorod (*)
Kirov
Moscow
Taganrog

And this is not the limit. [I think that the circle of acquaintances, for example, Scorpio, is an order of magnitude wider]

Hence the conclusion: you can live without IFC.

ps\ still has not given up on the idea of FAQ "Traders" - at least there is already
something to write. If traders from these (and other) cities wish, you can
send me what information they want to include about themselves.

With hotHello, Slava!

VM> Rostov-on-Don (*)
VM> Donetsk (*)
^^^^^^^^^ This message, to be honest, would have been established without the echo.
When I first called about CV - about FIDO I had only a vague
idea.

VM> Hence the conclusion: you can live without IFC.

Exactly.

VM> ps\ still hasn’t given up on the idea of the FAQ “Traders” - at least
VM> there is already something to write about. If traders from these (and other) cities wish,
VM> you can send me the information about yourself
VM> to include.

Our data is gone.

Traders, please be more active, otherwise people don’t know who to turn to.
For example, on the proposal to distribute “The Wizard of Oz” Only 3 (!) people responded. :( Taking into account the fact that the author wants to get at least
500 thousand, the price becomes unrealistic for so many traders.
For ten people it would be only 50 thousand. - quite an acceptable price.
2AlexeyLegotin: repeat the sentence in the echo - people must show up!

Hasta la vista.
Tim Kelly.

EM> Our data has gone to waste.

caught it :)

EM> Traders, please be more active, otherwise people don’t know who to turn to.
EM> For example, on the proposal to distribute “The Wizard of Oz”

Exactly. There is a similar situation in St. Petersburg. I have nothing against XLD, but it seems to me that St. Petersburg authors become their hostages in terms of distributing their programs (because they don’t know who to turn to). And not only St. Petersburg:
a typical example is “Plutonia”, which was already purchased by XLD, but
never went on sale :((Perhaps for a similar reason, St. Petersburg’s “Mortal
Kombat” (2DenisMarkelov - ?)
Of course, there are authors who enjoy the process
of writing, but they don’t want to deal with distribution. But there are also those who
is interested in the fastest possible distribution, bypassing intermediaries.

ps\ to those with whom I managed to contact (except for KGS): can I at least include your phone numbers in the FAQ? Please confirm with soap.

Warm greetings, Slava!

Hiya Vyacheslav! Answering a message marked with the following:
From: Vyacheslav Mednonogov (2:5030/362.4); To: Eugene Malkov;
Date: Friday, 01/09/98; Time: 01:52;
Subj: “Forwarding zx-goods between St. Petersburg and Moscow...”

VM> Basically, the numbers are as follows: in less than a month, a number of CVs were distributed to other cities
VM> equal to half the number of UFO-2s that IFC
VM> distributed in a year. And this doesn’t even take into account what comrade Zonov and Nemo are distributing
VM>.

Wow! I'm glad! It turns out they are buying more games. Probably due to the small
number of new products - before there was something to spend money on - a bunch of Western and
domestic new products, magazines. Now this is bad.

BTW, did IFC sell a lot of UFO-2s?

With God's blessing, Sergei Novikov AKA Spirit/STEP

Yeah :)

VM> ps\ to those who were able to contact (except KGS): can I put at least your phone numbers in the
VM> FAQ? Confirm with soap, please.

No, Slava, it should be like this: I’m putting your full data in the FAQ, you can refuse within
three days, then it will be too late :) Then the FAQ will definitely work.
