Transferring Spectrum disks to IBM

ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Yuriy Kverznev To All 13 August 1997

Hello All!

Maybe someone can tell me which utility is better to use to do subj.
It is necessary that when you write back to the disk, so that later any Spectrum
can read these disks without problems.
Well, and that the program reads the entire disk into a file.
Otherwise, after the hobta, it takes a long time to figure out what sequence
to return write to disk, because There are programs in which the sequence of files is required, and if you write them in a different sequence, then the toy will not work.
And if you memorize, you won’t remember all 200 disks.
Therefore, you need a utility to copy the disk image, first to the IBM
and then back to the Spectrum disk, and then it was readable on the Spectrum
without any problems.
Tell me something.

Bye!
Yuriy

Hello Roman!

VB>> There has been such a program for a long time, called Teledisk (preferably version
VB>> 2.15). It can even be found on CDs in the “miscellaneous” section.

RK> Give it here! Let's check it out... let's blow our nose... :)

I would love to. According to Specky, I have a terrible amount of programs, but so far even the boss won’t let my Yuyuki through. In general, they are keeling right away.

Don’t you think that Shalaev's emulator is somewhat more convenient for this purpose,
and it works faster....

Happy connections.

Yes, but protected disks are not copied to the trd image, and the teledisc
can cope with this. In addition, there are disks formatted with more than
80 cylinders, in which case the emulator simply throws out
the last cylinders when copying. And then, during emulation, trying to read them
it gives an error message.
Question to the authors of various utilities and emulators working with the trd format:
Is it really difficult to determine the number of tracks on a floppy disk?
Accordingly, the length of the *.trd file should not be strictly 655360
but as long as required to fit the missing tracks.

Yours sincerely
