new (?) thought about the Sprinter

Greetings, Pavel! Glad to see you again!
Answering yld Thursday, the 31 of July 1997:
SN>> Subject. Just an idea: maybe Sprinter will not only not be useful,
SN>> but also harmful? After all, the whole interest of working on the ZX is to implement
SN>> on it something new, interesting with the same resources.
PF> The whole interest is to do something of your own, yourself. And doing something in
PF> the field of hardware, opening up new possibilities, IMHO is much more interesting
PF> than creating demos that are no different from each other, squeezing out old resources to the
PF> drop, and not really running on anything except the car of the one who
PF> did it.
You can argue here.
SN>> I have an opinion regarding the maximum allowable configuration is:
SN>> 256x192 (+ you can expand the screen due to the border space), AY, GS,
SN>> 256K (it’s simply not useful to anyone else, and that’s enough),
SN>> HDD.
[smth was devastated...]
PF> You say, on the same resources? And 256 kb, GS and HDD are not “the same
PF> resources”, this, my friend, “is no longer Spectrum”. So you, comrade
PF> are contradicting yourself...
I only named the maximum limit, beyond which you should not go.

Of course, everything must be done wisely - I don’t argue. Until these resources are mastered,
of course you shouldn’t go any further - otherwise how on PC it will turn out: “why do we need 8 meg
when we have 32”...
bye, with all the best wishes, Pavel Fedin.
