From Dmitry Grigoryev To All 24 May 1997

Hello, All!

In Moscow, the weekly newspaper MAXIMUS conducted a user survey. Most
of the questions are blatantly ripped off :-) from a recent survey by Sergei Novikov.
Therefore, it is quite interesting to compare the answers...

RINDEX> Ugh. Looks like they did it. How much nerves did this questionnaire cost me (and not only me). That's it. It’s better to do the next one in the fall
and not for me. And one more thing. Since by the end there was no more strength left, you should not be offended by our perhaps a little harsh comments. Well, now let's proceed directly to the results of the
questionnaire.

And there were already 66 questionnaires. 37 questionnaires were received online
(and this is good news), and the remaining 29 were filled out
on SysOpnik. One questionnaire came all the way from the glorious city of Kharkov from VIC. And on SysOpnik there was SLASH. That's it.

A little about tables and graphs. Basically, in the table, the first
digit is the place, then comes the title/name, then the number of votes and, finally, the percentages. If suddenly you find several
identical numbers - do not be alarmed, this means this is the placeshared several answers among themselves.

Well, now I will list those who responded to our questionnaire.
First and last names are in the order in which I received the questionnaires.

KOLOVRAT> Yes... Speccy is no longer a platform for young people. In general, the ZX-User is far from old age and brain impotence, but his age is steadily growing (((

On the other hand, all the young people go to the PC to play DOOM cheaper, and the Amiga is bought mainly by connoisseurs of beautiful
platforms and solutions... And toys too)))) (Food for the mind...)

RINDEX> Maybe, maybe. But in Moscow,In my opinion, there is only one place where Spectrum is sold, and very (even too many) where you can buy a PC. In St. Petersburg it’s a completely different matter, there is competition between Scorpio and KAY, and everyone is trying to hammer into the buyer’s head that his computer is better. But here everything is neglected... It’s a pity.

KOLOVRAT> Yes, and where they sell Speccy, they sell a fairly outdated model without any effort to develop (((. Slightly improved
PENTAGON with clumsy VG turbocharger.

RINDEX> I don’t know, I didn’t buy it, but the Pentagon is selling that for sure.

CODER SYSOP GAMER GFX WRIGHT MUSIC HACKER

KOLOVRAT> With such an abundance of coders, the deplorable state of program release in the Capital is very strange;)

Yes, we have more coders than gamers, that’s why they don’t release anything - because they play there is no one, everyone codes and codes...... and
1.5 years ago there would have been 51% of hackers - the fashion has passed!

RINDEX> But fashion changes every year, look next year

there will be 51% of gamers, but you shouldn’t make games like
SMAGLI 1. They won’t forgive you for this.

KOLOVRAT> I think the next fashionable problem will be SYSOP, the first signs are already evident :).

KOLOVRAT> Oh, in vain in St. Petersburg they don’t like AY-mouse, in vain... Although they don’t focus on our
market (.

RINDEX> But AY-mouse is not only in Moscow.

KOLOVRAT> Yes, but the most advanced software is made in St. Petersburg specifically for the
kempston mouse and in the application they sell Kempston-mouse devices, perhaps with good intentions of introducing a standard, but at times this does not resemble a banal raking in for themselves.

KOLOVRAT> As you can see, Speccy is mainly owned by those who purchased it in 91-94, when no one knew about the Amiga yet, and PCs had difficulty
learning to nasal with 8-bit SB.

RINDEX> And the Spectrum, by the way, in 1988 was named the best computer!

KOLOVRAT> And in 91, if I I'm not mistaken, A500+, but when was PC
named the best computer?

RINDEX> What do I remember? Maybe he wasn’t at all, who the hell knows.

But not at all! Most likely, it became the best computer when ID-
