On estimating the number of spektrumists (Slava Mednonogov)

Hello, Vyacheslav!

cities (and in St. Petersburg) this is far from the case. So you can’t calculate the proportion.

I didn’t count, but estimated, i.e. guessed the order, which is called +/- 50%
Now...what kind of Spectrumists are we talking about?...how many in remote Russian villages
48 Spectrums, where they were brought by distant village relatives...God knows!
It’s the same in small deep towns, and in not very small, but remote
“from Europe”. No, of course they are our people, what they call brothers in spirit...
but if in their entire life they come to Mitino or Kazakova a couple of times and never even call anywhere, “Here I am, Vasya Pupkin, from the village of Malye Flopy,
brought you a new disk operating system for the Spectrum” - then they won’t change the weather,
regrettably. When will we, like in America, install a
computer with a modem in every barn ;) In the meantime, Vasya - the undisclosed Russian Bill Gates (or
Slava Mednonogov :) ) is doomed to obscurity :(
Now about St. Petersburg. The law of large numbers is a terrible force ;)
and if there is reliable data on the number of installed modems ComputerWeek
3(257)1997 p.20Moscow and the region/Petersburg and the region 5:1, and in terms of the number of Internet providers World Internet12(15) p.88 3:1. The population in our regions
is also about 3:1.
But the average salaries Moscow: St. Petersburg - 1.4: 1
I know the estimate of the number of spektrumists in St. Petersburg at 1000 people, but IMHO
this figure is somewhat exaggerated;), even taking into account the sluggishness
of the coordinators of the St. Petersburg ZXNET, the greater poverty of the St. Petersburg population, the less
development of networks in general, and a smaller population - such a number of Spectrumists - "civilized"!!! we don’t have it now!
Taking into account all of the above, nowhere in large cities (where the vast majority of spektrumists live) does the coefficient K exceed 10!
And this means that the order of the number of spektrumists “civilized” by me
guessed correctly!
I.e. There are really from 2 to 4.5 thousand of us and perhaps several more
thousands of Spectrums, gathering dust on shelves and tables, occasionally taken out for
nostalgic experiences (who has the time and inclination) :)
With respect, Andrey S.

Interesting point. And Moscow: Minsk - 6:1 at least. Therefore, SNB
is, of course, a good idea, but only within Russia. And so,
it turns out: the CV costs in terms of, say, 150 tons (cost price),
and min. salary - 200 tons. :( It is not profitable for traders to buy,
because they are afraid that they will not sell. The only option left is -
the one who wants to buy. And now there are almost 10 people. :)
With best wishes, Ars^FTL
