About the free society of spektrumists (it was SOS).
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Andrew Savichev → To All 4 February 1998
Hi, All!
Hello, Sergey!
Actually, “I repented” of the fact that I probably “threw out the baby with the bathwater.”
Without “voluntary-compulsory persecution,” the idea of a community of spektrumists
is not so bad. Only its goals should be different, and the size of membership
dues should be smaller, and of course no Pol Pot’s harassment ;)
After all, we live in a free country :)
I didn’t give up my idea, but here’s what I thought: no one believes in the reality of
SpectrumUnion, and potential organizers, including the future Chairman
don’t want to get involved in this, not feeling genuine interest from
the broad public masses of the public. So, in order for them to discover this interest and, accordingly, to expend effort themselves, I propose:
1) to bring the idea of creating a “Free Society of Spectrumists” or whatever
it to the broad masses;
2) it should be somehow different from DOSAF, i.e. at least report on
the expenditure of people's money;
3) must still have a Charter and be registered as a public
association of citizens;
4) at first do not start grandiose financial-intensive projects;
5) in connection with the latter:
a) do not promise the people "freebies";
b) introduce a one-time annual membership fee in the amount of 30 rubles. new
c) be voluntary without any threats or statements,like “we are good,
and you’re all bullshit and k...”
6) if 40 people join, it means conferring and deciding WHAT to spend
1200 rubles, if 400 - then 12,000, and to squeeze out of people 120,000 new ones a
year - that’s somehow.... in a word, I’m against this.
People should decide for themselves what to buy with their own money blood money.
Sincerely, Andrey Savichev/CGS
