New graphic editor
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Andrew Savichev → To All 9 January 1998
Hi, All!
Hello, Sergey!

>Imho, it’s not worth it. Bye. Let's see if there are enough AW people.
Vladimir still has interesting plans for his development into an animator... and in the
editor itself you can add work with “self-drawn” graphic
formats, for example for games via a modem, he seemed to be thinking about this, but let him
tell about his plans if he wants ;)
But virtuals have almost nothing, except for viewers :( but in vain! here you have scanners
and touchpads and the darkness of ready-made graphics... in one word they would overwhelm the natural
graphics :), which of course users would be happy about.
There is still not a single smart converter from multi-color images with
high resolution to Spectrum (Sprinter) graphics.

How’s that? for spring or summer? ;)

>AW has everything we could think of. So that’s enough.
Don’t say that... there are no limits to human needs...
but of course it’s not worth repeating 1:1, it’s just a shame, of course, that 20 teams
(if your forecast is correct)
spend effort on achieving approximately the same levelimplementation... and so little strength, and even scattered, abysmal! :(
And this situation is not only with graphic editors.
At least discuss these issues in an echo with all interested parties, exchange
ideas, otherwise everyone is “stewed in their own juice.”
Probably here FAQs are no longer enough, but it is necessary to create coordination sections
in various areas of system software development and help each other -
IMHO everyone will benefit!
