ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Tim Yunaev To All 1 February 1998

May you have eighty-three bags of hryvnyas, Andrew!

Not that, to completely (then it’s pointless to argue), but I haven’t yet heard
arguments with which one could argue.

AS> what are you doing here zx.spectrum?”

I’m discussing the expediency of releasing the Sprinter and its future fate.

AS> We haven’t seen anything like that here... no one is being forced here with a lasso

Hmm. I've already heard about ideals. As far as I remember, where ideals begin
sanity ends.

AS> Do you have any sensible suggestions for the benefit of the Spectrum - express
AS> them, no?...good riddance!

You are in the from field: put Moderator, otherwise it turns out frivolously.

AS> until they die a physical death!

Such phrases perplex me. For what? Who are you trying to prove something to?For me?
For myself? And what exactly? Or will you basically work on a 1200/NONE modem until it burns out? Or are you just a lover of antiques? I can give you a 300/NONE modem,
the size of a Leningrad-1 board :)

Ha Pro and ATM-turbo, as far as I know. It was
never on a standard Spectrum.

I have never understood people who deliberately limit themselves in
development. Who are you making worse, us? Or for yourself?
A _home_ computer without the ability to access the Internet cannot now
be considered full-fledged. It's 1998, not 1988.

AS> For you, it may suck (since you and people like you are “cool
AS> guys”, but for ordinary people it is quite acceptable!)

You have some kind of poverty complex developing. Have you noticed that you yourself and no one else agree with you? Or do you think that we are all mistaken, but you know the truth?
Maybe. Life will tell.

AS> Don't exaggerate!

Can you do it or not? The question is fundamental.

AS>.

Hm-yes. Nostalgia is a great thing. Or maybe this is senile insanity? :))))))

AS> Are you saying that the Sprinter board can be made for$20?

I want to say that its real price, at which there WOULD be a demand for it, is $20.
Boards from XT sell for 50 kopecks, although you can’t make it even for $10.
Aging, sir. Technical progress.

>> AS> amazingly promoted, etc., etc.
>> Awesome - these are five articles in this echo???????
AS> And what does the “five articles” have to do with the Spectrum, and as you know
AS> it has been “promoted” since the late seventies!

What does the promotion of the Spectrum have to do with the promotion of the Sprinter? What is
Spectrum, 20% of the country knows what Sprinter is - imho, not even 0.5% can be reached.

P.S. I would like to hear specific answers, and not the voice of offended pride
“they say, you still haven’t seen life!” We saw it.

P.P.S. Why are you writing to this conference not from the Spectrum? Unpatriotic
somehow. What about ideals?

With respect, Tim. [Team Aries - Rulez Forever]
