catch warez! - new Boot!
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Igor Gruzdev → To All 14 May 1997
Hello, Sergei!
It’s quiet outside the window, and I’m sitting and writing a response to a letter written from Sergei Novikov to
Igor Gruzdev Mon May 12, 1997 at 15:23...
SN>>> Why? If you don't want to, don't look - select a file and hang on. But sometimes
SN>>> you want to relax ;)
IG>> In such cases, it’s better to launch some kind of demo...
SN> From a boot in the style of “Forever Cemetery”?
So don’t look at it! ;) And I chose to download and enjoy. In terms of time, loading and
decreasing a long boot (with graphics, animations, tons of music) will take
more time than loading a 'graveyard' boot and launching the program.
IG>> Or STD - I had a whole disk with system traces. I don’t like saving
IG>> on the 160th track.
SN> ;) Buy a timing belt - there you can save on the unused 161st... :)
Most of my disks were formatted for 83 tracks, two sides. Total on
166 routes. And they were packed to capacity.
IG>> And I had quite a lot of disks with files packed with zxzip,
IG>> and the boot there was zxunzip...
SN> Normal (modern) programs hardly compress...
And I didn’t even pack the last ones, I played them. :) These are old ones that have already become boring, and it’s a pity to wash them. ;)
With all sorts of regards and wishes.
Igor.
