Hi, All!
I read your echo with pleasure, because there are a lot of interesting and caring people here.
I myself am a hardware guy, a microcontroller guy, but the whole history of the Spectrum, past, present and FUTURE, is my passion in life...
I agree with those people here who asserted that a bacchanalia with pussies is “a feast during a plague.” They don’t have time to make candy, throw it at their feet, crush it and create another monster... and suck money out of people with terrible force. Sticking to that line is like having a harem, but not everyone is given the opportunity to be a padishah... I just don’t agree that “pirate software" will save the pussies of users... When I buy a compact for 30 tyr and then spend two weeks clearing out what's dumped there (making myself more and more convinced every day that it's mostly bullshit) so 30 tyr remain as such only on the condition that I serve my sentence and my time is worth absolutely nothing...
Now abouthard...Several conferences were created only to warn users “don’t step on a cow dung,” but nevertheless, half of them have their feet in this very thing, you know what. It’s not clear why they don’t discuss software in the same way? Maybe it’s because it’s “Made in USA” and you can’t blame everything on
yellow?
I’m writing all this for those who think “if only I had a spare piece of bucks,
I would...” Don’t flatter yourself, perhaps it would be more expedient to spend
it on something else.
Now about the Spectrum itself.
First about the most general, about the person who created this world (Spectrum, of course). He created this computer with one goal - to achieve an unprecedented quality/price ratio.
What happened then follows from this. The laws of the market are such that new products,
be it a processor, other chips or computer peripherals, cannot be cheap.
And then they disappear from the market, without falling to prices at zero level.
Staying within the limits of 99 pounds, 99 dollars and 99 rubles (x 10000 = 990 rubles) is an extremely difficult task. What do we have today?
1. A processor of the 197x model (I don’t argue modernized, but still not in the same ratio as the 8080 (2MHz) - stump-2 (233MHz)
2. The need for compatibility with input/output devices and video modes
3. Price up to 999 thousand.
The first point is actually quite easy to get around, not for the average user, butcompanies producing mikruhi (but even users can do something with the advent of new ATMEL chips).
The second is more difficult to do, but nothing is impossible! If there were cards that supported modes from MDA to SVGA, then why not make a Sinclair48video/VGA mikruh (it would be better with a sub-mode for CTV).
Similarly with the music player.
Pieces of computer hard drive have already begun to be used and it’s just great!
China makes keyboards for 60 tyr, but we can’t - well, health, besides
fingers get used to a certain layout and don’t want to switch
from one to another at the will of their owner ;-)
Gizmos such as CD-drive should definitely be used since their prices have dropped
to $30-40, as well as chips from multicards (FDD, HDD, CD (IDE in one word) mouse, game-
port, LPT-port, COM-ports). Then each is developing to the best of its financial
possibilities, but it is important that it can easily hook computer peripherals from pussies.
Now the main question is, has anyone made SUCH A BOARD?
>Hello everyone, I’m here again about Sprinter. The fact is that I listened to
one guy and decided to try to impose my point of view on you about the new
computer.
Let's Let's talk about "what to do?" Perhaps people will appear about whom
we can say “Sidorov is Sinclair today!”

With respect, Andrey SavichevВ.

In Kharkov, external
modems have been connected and are being used through it for half a year now. The only question is software support for FDD, HDD, etc.

So if everyone knows this, can you post it here?
