Hi, All!
Hello, Igor!

IG>What should a home computer be able to do in general? Let's just say
IG>I wonder who uses their home IBM or Amiga?
The most important thing!!! access to networks, the rest is just trifles...although not quite:
archives (anything, but to, say, store photos, you need to buy a digital
camera,
scanner, etc., you can store music, soon DVDs will appear - video, while you can
listen to (and store) ordinary sound compacts) - once; self-education - (learning
languages, etc.!) - two, books/press can be read again online and on compacts
- three.
Again, “knowledge bases”, for example, how to make explosives yourself in the
kitchen ;) With networks in generalyou can come up with a bunch of things to do :)
So, whatever one may say, Sprinter needs to have software for: modem, CD-ROM, scanner,
digital camera, well, he already seems to have the rest of the essentials.
For the especially gifted, you can, of course, finally computerize your apartment globally
(preferably a detached private house). But for this to happen, individual home devices,
TV sets, food processors, etc. must be stuffed with
“brains” (microcontrollers/single chips)...
In general, a home computer is still different from an office computer, although not very
significantly;) it’s a computer in Africa too.
IG>voluntarily and completely / I myself have experience :)/. And for what else? Still
IG> what
IG>is meant by a home computer?
It doesn’t depend on the platform, IMHO. Brought into the house - it means home! :)
Another thing is very important:
1. Possibility of expansion (this means not only to be plugged in, but also
supported by the system);
2. Availability of the software (physically and at a price), its quality!!! and maintainability
(for these two - IBM completely sucks! with us, in any case, but with “them”
but the price is “biting”);
3. “Transparency of architecture”, i.e. availability and accessibility of good documentation;
4. The most important thing is the prevalence and environment (the world; the stage, as part of it)
It seems that IBM is much more widespread, but yesterdayI went to buy myself
a terminal (on a pirated compact) so the sellers couldn’t even tell
what they had under DOS, what under Vyndos :( what can we talk about then?
It’s not enough to make a computer on a board, it’s not enough to even write software for it!
Oh my friends, if only we had at least some kind of computer supported like in the States!
But still, all the same, the Pentagon and Scorpio each have something from an ideal
home computer (ATM and Pro too), Amiga, of course, too (it’s not for nothing that it’s called that), but in our country it has spread too little due to the high price and
for other stupid reasons. It’s even more difficult for the Sprinter, it hasn’t even started to crawl yet ;) (but it shows great promise!)
>With all sorts of regards and wishes.
