Hello comrade All!
I recently saw the “Sprinter” computer, this computer is interesting because within 1 second it can change its hardware configuration twice. in the near
future, on computers of this type, systems like Windows will be possible, but not only multitasking, but also multi-architecture. For example, in one window you have a PC, and
in another Macintosh.
The computer was designed by the Peters company and will cost fully assembled:
MiniTower case, 3.5" disk drive, mouse, keyboard and set of cords - $169
As a display, you can use a standard color TV with a PAL
decoder.
Technical characteristics:
Z84 CPU (clocked 21 MHz)
RAM 4 MBt
VideoRam 256 kBt (expandable up to 512 kBt)
CMOS and timer
IDE controller
8-bit ISA 2 slots pcs.
COVOX 1x8bit
COM 1 pcs
LPT 1 pcs
What is most interesting about this computer is that when writing your
program, it is possible to insert a block into it, which, before starting
reconfigures all the computer equipment forexecution of the task.
The computer has a hardware copyright protection system.
The video controller supports the following graphic modes
256x192 (16 fixed colors in 8x8 pixel squares) compatible. from ZX-Spectrum
320x256 (40x32 characters)\
| 16 fixed colors in 8x8 pixel squares
640x256 (80x32 characters)/ 256x192 (256 colors from a palette of 16 million colors)
320x256 (256 colors or 16 colors from a palette of 16 million colors)
640x256 (256 colors or 16 colors from a palette in 16 million colors)
640x512 (256 colors or 16 colors from a palette of 16 million colors)
Software compatible with the ZX-Spectrum computer.
Sincerely yours Igor

On the topic:
MR> Just kidding, but have fun!
Raster and I challenged each other on the subject: “Who will come out first -
ZXF#7 or ChV?” The loser gives the winner 1 (one) can of piva :))
threat\ Today X*Reversi is going on sale - a logic game with the ability to work
via a modem. IMHO, there aren't even a dozen of these games yet (I only know Laser
Squad)
zyzy\ c CV finishing problems - global lack of memory :((( Day after day
there is a battle for every byte. Not in the sense of optimization, but in the sense of cutting down sprites
and throwing out pieces of code.
But there is already an option for TR-DOS (in FDI format) with several. levels,
F_Cuts and the possibility of shipments. The shipments turned out to be very large (approx. 20
KB), so they will be stored on a separate TR-DOS disk. It is possible to work with
two drives (thanks UKV :), and you can choose which drive to use. The second drive is always 5.25" (to scratch it :), and the first one is
3.5/5.25 to the taste of the buyer. As well as shipping (also any). I think this is
normal, because the surveys did not reveal people using only
3.5 drives.
As was said, for technical reasons, GS support was not included in the game, so a couple of new items appeared in the
setup - “color/non-color game” and “select
disc”.shipments"
Immediately after loading, an endless demo mode begins for those traders
who, using the Logros method, keep a working computer at a trading point. I myself can
watch for hours how they fight in the demo :))
The format of the second disk (where the levels are) is thought out this time in such a way that
it is absolutely independent from the first. Therefore, it is quite likely that in the future
discs with additional missions will appear. In addition new levels, it is possible in advance to
change the graphic design of landscapes, buttons, music and
inter-level graphics. Maybe our so-called hackers will take on the release of new missions, but one should be skeptical about such a possibility
:))

I would not say with such ease that you can emulate MSX.
The rest are Spectrum compatible. The difference between them is insignificant.
And even then, 100% is not realistic to achieve. Something will definitely not work.
After all, everywhere and always there have been craftsmen who worked with hardware not
as it was written, but as it turned out.
IM> The Peters claim that it is possible to emulate GMX as well. Moreover, all emulation

I'm afraid that it won't handle emulation a bit. Not the same system. If
there was a Z280+, then it’s possible, but so... Without MMU, decent screen emulation
cannot be done. If only the emulated device does not use any
drivers that can be patched.

It would have been good 3 years ago, YES and with the condition of a good one

appropriate support)... Spectrum is popular only because of
the richness of its software and its low cost. You are offering a monster that
can be a Spectrum and use all the wealth of software (it will no longer have its

it’s better to have a video console. If mail/fido/internet on limited

Hundreds of megs were not created for him. And for spec - don't confuse it. And the people

AR> Don’t you think that you are alone in your opinion?
Subscribers of this echo, not everyone writes from Sinclair. And they don't care
that another *mutant* will appear - born dead...
Or do you think that now, with the ZX market practically *faded*,
everyone will rush to buy a *completely* new, and such a strange computer.
Some people, simply, will count the money and say: what for do I need this mutant? for 160$? What is this, and where can I get software for it?
Yes, they will write software (I hope, at a minimum), but it will be COMMERCIAL,
i.e. cost money for ordinary users, taking into account the 'hardware
copyright protection - users will have no choice: they will have
to buy. There is still no such thing on Sinclair as shareWare, which
has been successfully practiced for many years on other platforms, and brings
good results...
So, the user will think whether it is worth overpaying sticky
money for an 8-bit mutant set-top box, and after thinking some more a couple of times, he’ll go and
buy himself... either a pe-tse (if there’s a lot of money) or an A500. What can you
on a500? Everything that is now created with such difficulty on Sinclair:
work in networks, including the Internet. This is the smallest thing. I'm not
talking about a huge database of toys and various software... It's ALREADY

In my opinion, on the PC, and not on the PC as you swear, the time has come
for “interesting software”, i.e. people buy a CoPact and select The Best according to their
opinion, consulting with their comrades - like dug up the good old one, or reasoning
like this - everyone uses Word and I will use it??? and let's see who will ultimately come up with a better document. Those. There’s no need to tell fairy tales; they don’t write anything commercial except Word. Although Word is recognized as a guarantee of
stability for a reason - it is by nature a good editor. By the way, recommend
some kind of non-crooked editor on PC or point out the crookedness of the first one.
In general, we are talking about Speccy here :) . And I liked the idea of a sprinter - the main thing is that the price was affordable for people. By the way, I would write
for it - if they paid me at least a little, otherwise I was already writing for the benefit of the Spectrum,
and I earned little money (not the right word).
In short, why discuss Word in the echo about the Spectrum? Is this how you drive people away from PCs? It would be better if they talked about the good side of the Spectrum... By the way
how much does the Z80 cost fromsprinter? I just didn’t get these processors in Odessa.

How's that? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is not possible, or what? Or will it not work on the original? 8-O

Iliya is that you?
...why were you telling me about the Computer?
IK> I think 1-2 pieces will probably appear on Mitka.
yeah, museum pieces...

This would be most interesting if the Spectrum had the ability
to easily connect a CD. And so - several emulators need this.
I still don’t understand why they haven’t done it yet. Burn the compact -
up to 40 thousand.
Good Luck...

How will appear!
Would you like to take part?

Well, I mean, you can’t just throw it through magic (like before); first of all
for those who do not have spec (after all, the game itself will not work under emulsions... until
they hack it :))
Warm greetings, Slava!

Well, you can’t spin it - you have to play it :)
And for traders in the game itself There are as many as _three_ options for what you can play:
initial demo (waving flag), intro (loop 12-minute video) and
game demo (endless defense of the fortress). It is enough to copy the first disk
to .FDI...
By the way, the first disk itself is not protected by anything (only sectors of non-standard
length). It will be recommended to make a backup copy using track-by-track copiers on
ZX, because... there are no duplicate copies on it :(
Of course, this does not mean that it is not protected by the Law of the Russian Federation
"On Copyright" :))
With warm greetings, Slava!
