From Evgeny Onishko To All 21 November 1997

Hello All.

Hi!
I have a couple of tips about SN. Just please don’t say that you got the thing for free, and keep quiet.
The tips are as follows:
1) Compile the program so that later it does not require a mathematical
coprocessor - not everyone uses 486 DX and Pentium
2) If it's not too much trouble, please make support for FDI and TAP files
3) ID the bug - I lost one TRD (it turned out to be 855 kg)
4) Please (I beg you!!!) make support for DosNav palettes. I can't work with others
I can't, my eyes hurt!
5) Mouse support

Of all the above, the first 2 are the main ones, but the rest are desirable

In general, _HUGE_ thanks for the program - very good and convenient

By the way, if you saw the text about the laser disk, then tell me, do you mind if your
child becomes public property?

Otherwise the shell would be really convenient
Evgeny

Hello, All!

In a letter dated Fri Nov 21, 1997, Evgeny Onishko wrote to All:

[... For some reason it was skipped...]
I support that it turned out to be a convenient thing. I used to use ZCop, now I use SN.

EO> 3) I guess there’s a bug - one of my TRD files has crashed (it turned out to be 855 kg)
And my SN clearly crashes if there are more files in the directory than in the SN window...

Is it possible to create a new TRD file in it? While I'm using ZXTools...

Thank you...

All the best, Evgeny. Sun Nov 23 1997 22:35.

Hmmm... a very rare glitch. I'll take a look. Hmmm...

EO> 4)
EO> Please (I beg you!!!) support DosNav palettes. I can’t work with others

Similarly. So I stuck mine “to death.” Now, if anyone shares the format of that palette or I dig it up somewhere, I’ll quickly attach it.

EO> 5)
EO> Mouse support

Well, okay, let’s see... I don’t like the mouse. It slows down the entire process of communicating with the computer.
I can get by without it in Windows too.

EO> Of all the above, the first 2 are the main ones, but the rest

Yeah, I really like it too. :)))

Now about 2) and 4). Now everything seems to be normal with my studies, so I continue to write. So, I write SN from scratch, in objects, because... in v.1.01 now you can't figure it out (I wrote it in two weeks, and they tested it for me for a week. The whole
5015 was on my ears! :))) Who needs the source code? I think I put them in with the subject, is it a password-protected archive, or not? If so, I’ll tell you the password later.) Because v.1.10 will not appear soon yet. I have FDI and TAP descriptions of formats, there is a ton of your
soap
on this matter, so let’s get started.
O 5). I believe you can write on TV one to one with DN, then the mouse seems to be like
and there is no need to attach it, it will be attached itself. :) And with the palettesame thing. Well...
I don’t
know...

EO> By the way, if you saw the text about the laser disc, then tell me, would you be against
EO> if your brainchild becomes a public property?

No, of course (in my opinion, I’m not against it). Bring me that disc in 5015!

Hail Evgeny!

EV> And my SN clearly crashes if there are more files in the directory than in the window
EV> SN...

Oooh! Cool! Well, why doesn’t it crash for me, huh... It would be nice if I was the only one...
Okay, have you checked the checksum? I have already posted the CRC.EXE program here.
The size of SN.EXE is 38477 bytes.
K/C should be C828D5C2

How, by the way, does it crash? What's going on? What error does it give or what? What
error? Well, guys, these things need to be reported in as much detail as possible. I’ll also say that my Windows crashes if I run more than 256 emulators by Shalaev and 128 by Yudin. How informative!
Well, it crashes. And where should I go now, where should I look?

EV> Is it possible to create a new trd-file in it? While I'm doing ZXTools...

Well, sure! Well, you offend! [F9] (by the way, did you look at the StatusBar below?)
And! For the first time! I’m talking about one undocumented feature! (There are tons of them there, by the way!)
[Ctrl+F9] creates a TRD image with a boot.
