Method 2 - PERVERT. It’s better this way:
You copy the is-dos disk into FDI format using 'makefdi.exe' (from UKV), and
you work with it as with a regular (not image) disk, and it loads and the speed
is high! Most likely, this method is more suitable for the Shalaevsky emulator!
2All By the way, you can try to create a disk with a volume, for example
'255sec*1024bytes*256tracks*2sides', but in this case the file volume cannot be
more than 5,548,800 bytes, since each file has a segmented file there
256 bytes of descriptor:
1stbytes number of segments
the remaining 255 are 85 3-byte records. The first 2 bytes are the number of the 0th block
(address on the device) of the segment, and the last byte is the size of the segment in blocks
(256 bytes - block).
Only with this volume the bit card will take up a lot!
RA> 5) A method worth trying: Take an emulator Shalaeva,
RA> you study its API, write your own ADD.
RA> Advantages and Disadvantages: they will appear.
In-In!
RA> P.S. There is no need to ask me for a Scorpio emulator.

So, a non-bootable 640-kbyte ISO disk generated by create.com on
Typ-dose like has no non-standardity. However, instead of
theorizing, you just need to try.

When on a directory, it shows the BODY of the directory, that is, file descriptors in
the directory (bent!), and when the directory is fragmented, it shows all
fragments of the directory body + 1 block (256 bytes) of the segment descriptor.

For all questions regarding IS-DOS (range of programs, conditions
distribution, acceptance for the implementation of your developments, etc.) you can
write to me at /299.11 Unfortunately, we do not provide IS-DOS via modem we transfer
(as well as we do not accept money by fax), although individual files, drivers, etc. are
quite real.

IG> Hello, All!
IG> For all those interested in IS-DOS, we inform you about SUBJ.
IG> Lesnoy pr. 65 bldg. 11,
This information, alas, is already outdated. We are no longer there. Due to the financial
difficulties experienced by the company "Iskrasoft", or more precisely - "Association I" -
that part of "Iskrasoft" to which we recently belonged, our
premises were sold for debts, and we were never given a new one :-(
As a result, the equipment of the Department is partially gathering dust in the company's warehouse,
partly stands at my home, where I am trying to continue producing floppy disks and
selling them for everyone. Perhaps in the near future it will work out and
our programs can be purchased somewhere. The main obstacles are, as always,
lack of money and free time.
For now, for all questions regarding the acquisition, implementation,
development and writing of programs for IS-DOS, you can contact me personally
by phone 260-7043 (preferably in the evening before 01:00) or by email at 299.11

This address is still valid for out-of-town customers. Due to
limited financial capabilities, prepayment is advisable, which can be
agreed in advance by letter or by telephone.

Because they sold floppy disks under an agreement with us, paying us
50% of the profits. But we couldn’t persuade them to make standard numbering, and they also reserved the right to make their own changes to the layout of the disks. IMHO, it was not good. The consequences are still being felt.
And with the formatter, sold separately from the system, they did something clever then,
causing a bunch of attacks (by the way, they threw shit at us for this in the ZX-REVIEW).

VS>> What if in the future, for example, on Sprinter they will make _subj_ in ROM!
IG> On Scorpio, this has already been done, IMHO, a long time ago...
It is time, in my opinion, to clarify the situation.
1. The IS-DOS system hardwired into the ROM of Scorpio is an image from a heavily
castrated IS-DOS disk of one of the beta versions of the system, which subsequently
received the number 3.5. This version was then not yet completed and therefore
was not officially sold.
2. Flashing it into ROM was done without my knowledge, as well as without the knowledge
of other employees of the IS-DOS Department.
3. No royalties, royalties or other types of remuneration
for official use Neither the Iskrasoft company nor the IS-DOS department have ever received a registered software product.
4. In response to my reasonable question regarding clause 3, Mr. Zonov replied that he did not recognize the copyright of Iskrasoft and considered himself entitled to use the products of our company free of charge.
5. From that day on, clause 3 began to apply to all IS-DOS floppy disks, sold by the Scorpion company (although his guys still honestly paid off the old debts).
6. We did not “pump up the rights” and pit the management of Iskrasoft against the Scorpion company only because the blow that was then still strong
Iskrasoft could deliver"Scorpio" would indirectly hurt the interests of many ZX Spectrum users.
7. After some time, users began to come with complaints about the poor performance of the ROM version. All of them were sent to the manufacturers, in
in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2.
That's all.
Draw your own conclusions.
PS: Please do not take this text as a reason for a flame or an attempt to find out
relationships with someone. Now this is no longer important to anyone. I just think
it is necessary to restore “historical justice”.
With best wishes,
Vadim

The point was that each user can make an image of Is-Dos _for himself/herself_

a violation of intellectual property rights.

is falling (I know that they are trading under a contract). And the story with a separate formatter
is truly disgusting and does not fit into any framework....
