AL>> And the one who removes his hands, for example, for no reason, what to call him. Cancerous tumor
AL>> is not suitable for an intro, since the intro carries useful information about
AL>> restoring or distributing the game, and plans for the future,
RA> 1) this does not require so much code that takes up extra space and time.
A good intro is valuable not so much with information as with the quality of execution. It's nice to look at (for many :), it's nice to listen to =) Well, and any
self-respecting intro maker is trying to reduce its size.
RA> 2) the need to see this every time you launch annoys even
RA> those who are interested in this information.
You might think that you launch the same game 20 times a day. And if
you don’t run them every day, then the intros don’t get boring and don’t irritate me (personally).
I agree, sometimes you have to restart the game several times in a row (very
rarely). But the discomfort that you experience cannot be compared with the inconveniences that most games cause (impossibility to exit, inconvenient controls, annoying sounds or even complete silence during the game - all this is no less unnerving for the same user who,in your
words, with hope he goes through the painfully familiar keys in search of any key :) to
exit the intro.
In general, if you adhere to your opinion, then you don’t need a beautiful output
picture, because it just takes extra time!
AL>> even in the end.
RA> A small menu is enough for this.
Fi! Personally, I don’t like this idea.
RA> Actually, that’s why I compared intravenous tissues with a tumor, because it
RA> is quite
RA> a normal and useful thing, but it is ugly hypertrophied and overgrown,
RA> so the analogy is obvious. By the way, I have never deleted chats, so
RA> you can’t call me a maniac surgeon cutting off hands ;)
You are removing from the version of its authors - people who often spent a single
sleepless night on it, restoring or immortalizing it. What moral right do you have to
this? After all, this is the same as removing its authors from the game.
RA> However, I can quite understand coders who want to make themselves known publicly
RA> through the intro
RA>, but it’s also worth treating the feelings of users
RA> more carefully in order to avoid the opposite effect, so that instead of
RA> saying: “This coder ..... he restored so many games" they didn’t say:
RA> "Oh, how many tediously slow intrusions this coder stuck in....".
Who cares. But the intros, I agree,Indeed, they should not be tedious and tasteless, and the intro maker himself is worried about this. There are very few bad intros, because the intro maker primarily cares about his prestige.
RA> Why, for example, not insert the intro as a separate line in the menu with
RA> chats and others..
What kind of intro will it be? It's a shame for 1997.
RA> or, for example, not link the intro to the floppy disk so that the intro
RA> is forced to be shown only once when starting the program on a new
RA> floppy disk (while maintaining the ability to launch it from the menu)?
Remember, say, the intro to Twin World (by Unit 5). I personally really like it.
I, as I already said, _very_ often launch the wasik file with the game in order to
look at the intro. And if I’m forced, in order to just “relax
to music and excellent visual effects,” click something in the menu or change
floppy disks in the drive - what kind of rest will this provide?

IG>>> Then why the intro for the game? Why not make an intro to an intro?
IG>>> It’s much calmer for both gamers and intro lovers.
SN>> :) It’s possible to do it, that’s just the point?
RA> So, explain to me then what’s the point in the intro (except for infinity, but for
RA> that’s enough of a tiny menu)?
To bring pleasure to some users. After all, some people like intros,
others don’t. And it is still unknown who is more.
SN>> It will be more like a demo.
RA> Well, they should write demos, since you want to show off your coolness, and not
RA> they would mock the users.
If they make intros, then someone needs it... (c) :) What makes you think that
most users hate intros just like you?
RA> Adding the inside to the game reminds me of the notorious “grocery
RA> orders” from the times of developed socialism - if you want one hundred grams of red caviar,
RA> take half a kilo of margarine for the load....
Or if you don’t want it, don’t take it. The authors of versions with intros usually do not receive a penny for them - they have the right to release the version they want. If you don’t like
this version, get another one... If you find it... But please respect their authors.
RA> You can watch the demo once, erase it (inadd a collection) and
RA> forget, and the Intra will intrusively pop up every time you want to launch the toy
RA>,
But demos usually cannot be “scrolled” forward. With intras it’s the opposite. Usually, you can get out of them in 10
seconds. Not to mention the fact that these 10 seconds are not spent looking at the wretched menu of some game written in a font, but with beautiful
effects and music.
RA> which, by the way, in no way contributes to strengthening the good
RA> feelings of the average user towards the group or the coder of this int. who wrote it.
Again, don’t speak for all users. And 5-10% doesn’t make a difference.
-S: ²Arty: You can include in the survey the question “do you like intros?”
RA> Have you ever seen a user launch a game with an intro? At that moment, as
RA> the inscription
RA> “Cracked (Disked...) by hacker ........" appears on the screen slowly creeping out on the gamer’s face with an unarmed
RA> eye, all the wishes to this “haker ......".
So this inscription is not an intro. Usually this was practiced in ancient versions that did not have int. And the intros, on the contrary, made some kind of revolution in the decoration of
versions.
RA> And how the poor keyboard groans and crunches, tormented on a grand scale by the palm
RA> of the user in the hope of finding that button that will stop endlessly
RA> a stretching list of greetings to people whom the user has no regard forabsolutely
RA> no business and other hacker verbiage,
I don’t remember such intros that, while reading the greetings, it was impossible to get out of them at that moment
. Usually it is impossible to get out of the introduction or de-crunch.
RA> what
RA> words are dedicated to these people and the author of greetings in particular.
RA> But the true apotheosis is the facial expression of a gamer who managed to wait (or
RA> bring it closer) to the end of the intro and the long-awaited menu appeared on the monitor with
RA> infinites, it is written, of course, in the least readable font of all
RA> known to the author, and for greater effect it (the menu) naturally either
RA> writhes across the screen or flickers brutally for greater
RA> unreadability.
Science does not exist without victims (c). I haven’t seen a person who couldn’t read
what is what in the trainer.
RA> Let’s say that the user has made out familiar letters, but alas, in
RA> he certainly doesn’t have familiar words, because in the head
RA> every hacker has two uninterrupted beliefs, every
RA> (almost every) hacker believes: 1) that his intra (deme) will definitely
RA> receive international
RA> distribution, and therefore the text must definitely be written
RA> in English,
They write in English not for this :), but to show their “coolness” (to say,
others can, but I can’tworse?)
RA> 2) what does he (the hacker) know in English.
It’s not always like this. Even if he suspects that he is making mistakes, he will still
write in English in order to look no worse than others.
RA> In general, at this moment, the expression on the poor gamer’s face reminds
RA> of Rodin’s thinker suffering from myopia.
RA> By the way, since we are talking about English: I have always been unclear
RA> the need for English in disk drives versions of anything, because
RA> Typ-Dos is actually distributed only in the territory of the Ex-USSR, where even
RA> the most ardent Baltic-Ukrainian-Chechen national chauvinists understand Russian well
RA> (which, by the way, cannot be said about English).
Again, for "coolness".
RA> However, any “Cool Hatker” doesn’t care about these considerations, because
RA> his task is not to be understood, but to show his
RA> coolness,
I’m talking about the same thing
RA> and it’s known that the more mysterious and incomprehensible the cooler....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wouldn’t say that about the int. Just english - the standard for
int.
IG>>> I plugged the gap with a match, went to drink tea, drank it - came - the game
IG>>> completed. Meaning?
SN>> If every game had a meaning... :)
RA> Are games necessary?without meaning?
It depends.
IG>>> A little exaggerated, but nevertheless.
RA> Not exaggerated at all, remember R-Type - that’s exactly how it goes (even
RA> without a match)
Well, why play with invulnerability then. A normal, enthusiastic gamer does not play to see the so-called. final cut, but to enjoy the game.
SN>> You need to play the game, and not plug the gap with a match. =)
RA> Why play a game that will pass itself without me?
So you play for the final cuts? In this case, you are contradicting yourself,
after all, final cut is the same intro, only written less skillfully.
RA> However, “infinite” shooting games like the aforementioned Air-Type
RA> are very popular among preschool children (my 3-year-old son
RA> plays it with the same pleasure as in immortal Doom),
RA> therefore they are needed.
At three years old playing Doom ;( I would not allow this, because you yourself understand that
this kind of game of “3D-massacre with a sea of blood and screams” is not good for a small child will carry it through.
RA> declare yourself publicly,
But I don’t...
This was the case during the time of KANO, just remember his famous phrase:
"100% presentation in Moscow by MKHG",
when the intro is not made for the game, but a game for the intro is looked for,
for example, for a long time no need to go:
Dizzy X, Releases: Codebusters, Mortal Kombat, Softstar
And everywhere the same problem - it’s impossible to beat the 48th game,
and the error was simple, there at 128k a sign of 512 bytes was generated,
but at 48k not, it was enough to generate this a sign and at 48k how everything
worked...
RA> but you should
RA> be more attentive to the feelings of users in order to avoid the opposite effect,
INTRO: this is a kind of satisfaction after the work has been done, and not a way
to declare yourself publicly, for this they write demos.
RA> so that instead in order to say: “This is a coder
RA> ..... he restored so many games”
RA> they didn’t say: “Oh, how many tedious braking intrusions this coder stuck in.....".
Often, users don’t care who made this or that program,
they care about how it is done.
you need to write in English? who made it the standard? just for the feeling of
Well, isn’t it clear to me... I’m already tired of stupid questions. If a version
does not give anything to the group releasing it (i.e., no fame, no money - nothing at all, not even an inscription in the bootloader), then a normal group will not be involved in the release of this
version - interest is needed in every business. Let's say the group puts the inscription "Cracked by Nosok Group" in the bootloader text, figuratively speaking. Few will see this inscription - only those who will view the downloader, but this will already bring some kind of fame to the group. Those. an incentive will appear. Of course, why not strengthen this incentive by, say, making it so that
before loading, the inscription “Restored by Nosok Group” is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
This is done easily, and the incentive is already stronger, the group will want to release something else
with this inscription again. But why release 10 versions with
the same inscription at the bottom of the screen, thereby gaining N conventional units
of fame, when you can immediately release a beautifully designed version, with an intro and
your own cool picture, say? At the same time, there will be even more incentives for the group: of course, because here it will finally look not like a couple of lamers, but
like something decent. Thus,a normal group will try to get the best out of their work. If not money, then fame. And how well anyone succeeds is another question. Groups that fail to realize this will
remain lame in the concept of society, creating versions with inscriptions like
"Restored for 128K mode by..." at the bottom of the screen.
Yes... [Long pause]. By the way, in what game did you see this ( )? Just don't cite antediluvian versions as an example, please.
EM> They have already talked about the times of the USSR - you buy 1 kg of sugar, and as a bonus
EM> There’s something you still don’t understand... :((
Do you even think about what you are talking about? 1) They give you a fully
developed version of a fresh toy for free. 2) They sell you food in a
store, selling you something for a load. Is there a difference? That's right, you get
the version for free. Or maybe you want to pay? OK, send money, they will send you a
version without an intro :) And when you don’t do anything yourself, but only
criticize others...
Have a nice connection.
