ZX-hello!

There was. On TIMEX. Should it be considered proprietary? I don’t know, but it was produced “there” and quite legally, apparently under license. This is 48k.
On the “natural” Spectrum and Spectrum+ there was nothing except EDGE.
On the 128+ models produced by Amstrad after the purchase of Sinclair
Research Ltd. there were connectors for RS-232, a printer (it seems) and some other thing. But for the joystick?..

All the best to you! Hello family and dog! ZX Serge

On the Amstrad +2A there were connectors for both Sinclairs. By the way, what has always annoyed me is the overlap of 16-bit ports, which often leads to a problem in controlling two joysticks at once. And the keyboard can also malfunction;(

Bye! And in general, listen to Dream Theater. Pavel AKA Slightly Magic
