ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Vladimir Yudin To All 5 December 1997

Hello All!

Today I set the parameters via the command line!
Complete rule, thanks to everyone who wrote to me about this.
On the command line you can create only one parameter - the file name, the emulator recognizes the file type by extension and size. The following file types are supported:

.TRD - replaces drive A from the .Ini file
.FDI - also (support has not been added yet)
.Z80 - loads a Z80 Snapshot (48k/128k) at startup
.SNA - loads a Sna Snapshot (48k/128k) at startup
.SCR - loads a screen dump and hangs until pressing Exit or Reset
.INI - takes information from the specified .INI file

Sincerely

Why don’t PC players play ZX games? There you have to load the emul
and figure it out, and what should a child of 3-5 years old set up every time?
And so I threw in toys and they plow on their own without any problems.
You can do that during preparation the game will be thrown onto a virtual disk
and work from it quietly or on tape, depending on what version.
As for the fact that on a 48k game there will be 1meg, well, well
but you can bring your COLOR LINES to work (I just don’t like them)
and let them at least cut all your pride and life in the games that are dear to me toys
and the distribution will immediately increase!!! Not everyone needs Emyl, but many people grab the game I’m preparing without the markets. And even if they read ZX they will simply decide that it is some little-known company. I have friends who turn up their noses at Specki, they say, for old stuff, but they themselves cut themselves in 286 games. Send them such a thing, and
then say that you saw that they can do it on Specs!!!

If I’m wrong, it’s advisable to justify the answer.

With respect, Shor Kan.

As one of the regulars of the echo said;)
- On the Spectrum, the games are somehow kinder.
And I agree with him.
And by the way, with you too, I’ve seen it myself more than once MSX_games on PCshnik,
which people played with interest. :)
And Specky is worse!
For example, I would like to have an Elite on the PC, but a Spectrum one. Its shortcomings have
some kind of charm;) somehow complicates the task, which raises interest :)

There is such an emulsion - Varaevo. here you can compile the Z80 into an executable file. The program is a little larger than a snapshot, but it launches without problems. another thing is that the emulator is crooked, but zabibibibi :) 2yudin - let's do the same?

the warajevo emulator can do this.
I personally didn’t like it, but it has useful ideas.

Good luck
Sergey.

Yes, in some emuls there is such an opportunity - to transfer to an executable file!

From the next version you can do this:
1. Write the toy you need to the TRD disk
2. Give it the name BOOT (so that it starts)
3. Write the name of the disk in INI and set the parameter START_MODE=DOS
4.Change the name ZX_EMUL.EXE to the name GAME.EXE and you're done!

The result will be a game with a volume of 640Kb+30Kb=670Kb

Take back your words about Elite shortcomings!!! There are none, otherwise I’ll be offended.
And not only me!!!

Well, okay, let’s say not “disadvantages” but features. Nevertheless, on different platforms this game gave the player different opportunities. For example, at the control center, when aiming, your on-board computer told you who was flying towards you.
And this is even when the object is at the level of a point and is not subject to visual identification.
AP> And not only me!!!
I’m pretty much used to the Spekov Elite, really, I'm not that quick-witted ;)))

That is, if I throw the whole disk it It will still plow anyway. I mean
if there are several programs on a disk, for example the Dizzey collection?

Different possibilities are expressed on the PC, so that one of my acquaintances at work earned ELITE for
several shifts, and erased the PC version from the screw at home, cutting it into 3
Novosibirsk.
