Hey... The three most promising projects are frozen. All efforts are being directed towards the fourth, the playability of which, frankly speaking, is in great doubt...
It seems that everyone has completely forgotten about SGENERGY, only your next promises
awaken some distant, long-forgotten memories...
And at this time you are starting another project? "History of the release scene" ?
Sorry, but I get the impression that you are _NOT_ _ONE_ project and are not
going to see it through to completion. That all this is just a game of hype. "Digital
Reality is a very promising group" (C) V. Mednogov (I think).

P.S. This reminds me a lot of the situation with Spectrum's Dune - a bunch of people just showed off, declaring to the whole world "I'm making Dune!!!!!" But we never saw a single
Dune...

Good luck! Evgeny.

OK. Since you're a co-author, then let's do a little marketing research. Answer the question - "Why are games like DOOM and

And now answer one more question - “And you, as an author, will be able to implement in the SPECTRUM Duma a virtual world that is not inferior, or even superior, to IBM’s?”

PN> If you decided to attack them (Step, for example, PN> bad game alterations>), then it means they did something.
Firstly, I did not decide to attack anyone, I just stated a fact -
the number of “work has begun on the project” is growing, but the number “finally finished
work on the project” is still very small.
So in this case, and in fact, as always, the phrase “did something” is not always equivalent to the phrase “wrote a program.”

PN> n-number of crackwaRe and deMO-constrUction + FasT TracKer+ PassIance.
We are definitely speaking different languages... I'll try again.
Read your lips carefully:
"I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT ALL THE CRACKS AND DEMICS FOR ENLIGHT, I'M TALKING ABOUT THEIR
PROJECTS"

PN> Well, the fact is that they did not release their original works in deadline - they are not alone.
PN> :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I’ll try to explain again:
1) If you set a deadline for yourself, and for the whole world announced “this will be
cool, you’ve never seen anything like this before”, and you don’t carry it out yourself, then...
references “I’m not the only one” smack of childhood very much. Especially if this
(missing deadlines) becomes a systematic matter.
2) If you see that “deadlines are running out,”Then wouldn’t it be easier to single out one from a bunch of projects and throw ALL your efforts at it, after its completion, do the same with the other? And is it not, to put it mildly, in this situation, to announce the start of work on another new project?
3) If your group has not 1-2 people, but more, and you say that you skillfully organize work in it, then there will be a heap of missed deadlines projects being done in parallel speaks precisely about our inability to lead. (In 2-3 years, you will (should
have) the topic “Network Graphs” in one of the subjects related to economics. Familiarize yourself with it at least superficially, and you
will immediately understand why I am talking about inept leadership...)

From Evgeny Milun To All 22 April 1998

PN> Those who don’t have a PC will appreciate the masterpiece.
“For lack of fish and cancer - fish”? It's a good saying, but it was applied in the wrong place. Since Spectrum's Doom cannot be an exact copy of PC's, then the authors
should not follow the path of "copying one to one", but take as an example
UFO-1 and UFO-2, where even the very concept of the games was slightly changed, as a result of which the games turned out to be more "playable" than even on PC.

Listen, well, enough about deadlines and plans. You yourself must understand that the majority of software on spec is made not by companies, but by the most ordinary types. And this
means that it is more of a hobby than a business. And especially since you personally lost

No, Sereg. The first part cannot be compared with the first pisish, since it is a different
genre, and on Speccy for fans of the Cannon Foder genre this is the best option that
could only be. And since the largest number of people love
a dynamic strategy, then imho the Spectrum UFO-1 is superior to the pisish one in
playability.

So. It looks like you don’t know either... I won’t retell everything
(although, if you want, I’ll forward you my letters). In a word, the way Artie
presents to us his degree of participation in the work of DR gives reason to believe that
he almost organized a company there.
"... to mention only what, in my opinion, I can do well: this is
managing and understanding people, doing business and finding new and
progressive things that are not seen others... "
I think that's enough? It only remains to add that this was said
in a very didactic context as recently as October 1997 (i.e. quite
recently)... The reason for this conversation was Arti’s phrase - “you haven’t done anything at all except the leftmost (in terms of coding and the content of the magazine about BEROH),
and also some kind of crooked releases."

AG> TRUMOVSKY_ D00M - rulez!
And now _you_ come down from the heights... mmmm... something (:))), and you will see
that:
1) I am “realist” and I write my programs primarily for them.
(In particular, programs for accessing Fido from the Spectrum) :)) The fact that I have a stump at work, and I access Fido from it, should not confuse you...
2) There is such a saying “without fish, cancer is fish.” This is all I mean, then
if you had given this program a different name, and not DOOM, IMHO, its
popularity would have been much less. Since:
a) its virtual world is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo my of my of
B. For example - DRAK SIDE, DRILLER, some other fantasy game, etc. Their virtual worlds are much better than this Pokotsano-Dumovsky one,
in which the range of vision is limited to only 2-3 steps.
3) This opinion is not mine personally, it is shared by a lot of people.

AG> Anot at all pissy, which they don’t care about due to
AG> its inaccessibility! And we focus on THOSE people, and not on people like you and others like you, who sit on their pussies and lazily play croak, occasionally remembering Speccy and loading the emulator to see what's new there!
:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Who told you this about me? Artie? Novikov? Or did you come up with it yourself? Then I explain - I write _ALL_ my programs at home, on SCORPION, and on it I work with all the programs. I use emulators only so that at work (where “my pussy” is located) I can look through the programs that have come through this
echo, and select which ones to take home and which ones to trash.
Do you have any other questions on this topic? Then, I hope, we will no longer
play the “spectrumist patriot (you) and the pisyukov-baiter (me).”

[.....]
AG> I just don’t understand - why do you always give me as an example the opinions of
AG> some pisishniks about whom I have absolutely nothing to do?!
Mmmmmm... Lower your tone and speed, since neither I (nor all those I spoke about) are Pisyukites...
AG> To be honest, it’s deeply parallel to me - will they play D00M on Spec
AG> or Kwaku on pC - this is their personal business, meAbsolutely irrelevant!
Absolutely right. This doesn't concern you. So I’m saying the same thing - you
don’t give a damn how playable and competitive your Doom will be.

AG> I repeat
AG> again - give the opinions of those people _FOR_WHICH_ games are written on the
AG> Spectrum! Those. the opinions of _SPECTRUM_ users, not a pussy!
Then, I repeat once again - if you have a bunch of “emulator people” in your group
then don’t transfer this judgment to other groups.
And about the fact that the opportunity to work for IBM does not make a person
a “non-Spectrumist” you need to say ? Or will you see for yourself what kind of “patriotism” this smacks of?

From Evgeny Milun To All 24 April 1998

???????????? You're so serious about this, right? Do you think that, one way or another, sooner or later everyone is trying to “fly under someone’s wing”? Even when they are simply stating obvious and well-known
things? Yes, this is a problem. Yours.

S> Nothing global has been changed in the second part, except that some things have been simplified.
If you haven’t forgotten, you and I already discussed this about a year ago.
As far as I remember, you agreed with me then - the concept was slightly
changed, and not just simplified... In particular, the source of profit has changed.

EM>> as a result of which the games turned out to be more “playable” than
EM>> even on PC.

S> Also wrong. The writing variants are more playable due to the _color_ graphics.
S> If the same graphics could be implemented on the Spectrum, the writing

:)))))))) Word game again? I'm not telling you about the graphics, but about the concept of the game. And the graphics... I first played it on the Spectrum, and then on the PC...
Even the color graphics did not raise the PC version in my eyes...

Yes, they cannot be compared. PC stepper, Spectrum dynamic. Due to

And the monotony after 10-15 missions conveys a feeling of drowsiness,

And did I ever dispute that I wasn't the coder/musician/
artist? No. Why are you telling me all this then? Just to flame?
If you think that I practically did not take part in the creation of
OBERON-4, then why the hell are you bringing it to me as a counterbalance to my words about
DR? Again, why would you flame?
Or do you think that since you are “elite”, you know everything? Then, I’ll explain
so that next time you don’t so slurply fall into the bolt of your own
ignorance - the 4th OBERON was conceived as a “special issue” dedicated to the network.
Since up to a certain point I was working on this (the network)... In the summer I myself
reached the diagram for connecting C-DOS to Scorpio... I wrote an article on this
reason... I figured out all the connection nuanceshayes' according to Kondratiev's scheme... I wrote an article. I wrote a few more articles about
the network, but since it became clear that there was not enough material for the “special issue”, then
only some of my articles were left... By the way, what kind of
“processing of a couple of other, other people’s articles” are you talking about?

S> But everywhere you appear as one of the main authors...
:)))) But everything is much worse than it looks at first glance... You didn’t just “sit in a puddle”, you were already plunged almost to the top of your head into it. :)
Remember - I DO NOT introduce myself ANYWHERE as the _main_ author. As a founder - yes.
As an author - yes. As a “chief author” (and even more so as a “chief editor”, as

I will release TR-Windows 98. If this is so, then I will really release my product,

What kind of “virtualworld”? There is lameness in every word! Everything looks so much like a sandbox - the one on the right with the mold is Milun..."I see with my

From Alexander Grimalovsky To All 29 April 1998

Are you on your own again? Well, how many times can I repeat it - it doesn’t hold up because this is a Spectrum and not a PC and its capabilities are more modest => and “virtuality” suffers!
What, would you like an exact copy of DOOM on Spec? For what? Well, it would work with 500
interruptions, but what's the point?
Yes, let me also note: DOOM is a _game_ and not a genre! :) And its genre is
3D shooter, like our DOOM (adjusted for the Spectrum, of course)

EM> b) for a long time on the Spectrum there have been games made on the principle of “I see
EM> with my own eyes.” For example - DRAK SIDE, DRILLER, some other fantasy game, etc. Their virtual worlds are much better than
EM> this Pokotsano-Dumovsky one, in which the range of vision
EM> is limited to only 2-3 steps.
Yeah, just don’t forget that the genre of these games is usually Adventure and
accordingly, speed is not critical for them => and the engine is there more powerful. But DOOM
is not Adventure :) So there is no need to compare them!

EM> 3) This opinion is not mine personally
EM>, it is shared by a lot of people.
Just like mine!

AG> And not at all a pisish one, which they don’t care about due to
AG> its inaccessibility! And we focus on THESE people, and not on

EM> :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
EM> )) Who told you this about me? Artie? Novikov? Or did you come up with the idea yourself? Then I’ll explain - I write _ALL_ my programs at home, on
EM> SCORPION, and on it I work with all the programs. I use emulators
EM> only so that at work (where “my pussy” is located)
EM> I can look through the programs that have come through this echo, and select which ones to take

AG> I just don't understand - why are you always giving me as an example the opinions of
AG> some pisishniks about whom I have absolutely nothing to do with?!
EM> Mmmmmm... Lower your tone and momentum, since neither I (nor all those about whom I
EM> said) are not Pisyukovites...
Well, great! But it’s all the same - they don’t want to play Spectrum DOOM - let them not play, that’s their business, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people who will play it! There are such people and we write DOOM _for_them_!!!

AG> To be honest,It’s deeply in parallel to me - will they play D00M on Spec
AG> or Kwaku on PC - this is their personal business, which has absolutely nothing to do with me!

but I can say one thing for sure: it’s thanks to Arty that there is such a team as Digital Reality on the Spectrum

a statement of facts!

VY>> for a long time, like in Elite on the Spectrum.
S> Doom 2 ;) At least Doom 2 ;) At least by the number of people who have been playing it for more than one year,
S> he “makes” the Elite once every 100 ;)

And if you count it as a percentage (the number of users on a given
computer who were addicted to this game)/(total number of users)?

From Igor Gruzdev To All 6 May 1998

AG> Well, let’s say there’s no floppy disk with a cool guy yet, but there’s already a crowd!
AG> Honestly! I personally communicated for several months with very many
AG> spectrists - a lot of people are waiting for DOOM, believe me!

It is unlikely that their expectation will be justified. No, it’s possible that the doom will come out complete - it’s possible, but the playability of it... Unless you show it to some writer/amizhnik and proudly say - I also have doom. :) And there’s probably
nothing else for it.

From Alexander Grimalovsky To All 6 May 1998

EM> :)))))) So, it means that organizing work to make a profit is
EM> a cold calculation, but “just like that” is psychology?
No, it’s just that different teams have different tasks! And any
team needs organization, otherwise it’s a crowd!

EM> Well, then again, we’re doing much better with this. SOK
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (1)

EM> has been a non-profit
EM> group for almost two and a half years...
Digital Reality also ~2.5 years (since 08/10/95) And our group too non-commercial!

EM> And still not only have they not broken up, but vice versa...
And us? (c) Gentlemen of Fortune
So how can we understand your statement (1)?

EM> And what programs we make, let our users decide, and not
EM> some “sceners”...
Let those for whom these programs are written decide, but whether they are representatives of the scene is not important in this case. And then: “Or do I not have the right to my own opinion?” (c) Yours!

From Denis Dmitriev To All 6 May 1998

EM> People, who knows that an EMS version has already been created for
EM> hayes? Or is it still designed only for the EM> Alegro modem?
Or have they implemented
EM> ftn-mailer in EMS?
EM>
EM> 2 Denis Dmitriev: It looks like we have
EM> professional competitors. ;))

Wow, that’s great! Competitors are good.
But they are pros only in _those_ modems. Hayes has a couple of orders of magnitude more
opportunities, and the requirements for the subject are much
higher, otherwise there is no point. Unfortunately, we don't have a professional on ZX yet, and all that remains is to study, study and... oh!
the holiday is just around the corner! I'm off... ;)

With the best, Denis.

From Alexander Romanenko To All 7 May 1998

AH> Many not only move their pussy, but also think with their heads so that later on
AH> they don’t have to run around for strokes...

Well done! :-\ Who is hurting... I understand that you, of course, got into trouble once - but
but next time you will be more careful... :->

PS: Don't take it all so personally... Well, if I didn't like the subject, what can I
do... You all have brains - move on, develop - on
Spectrum time has not stopped... WORK - the fact is that you know how to do it to do, no one doubts. Good Luck!

ZYY: Let's stop with this unproductive flame.

C ya!
