Floppy disks 5' 2S/2D
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Vladimir Spashko → To All 5 January 1998
And I greet you, All!
Where can I buy new and good quality subj in bulk? Are they still making GMD in
Kyiv? How are things going with this in Moscow and St. Petersburg?
The lack of floppy disks may be one of the reasons accelerating the death of the Spectrum :-(
Best wishes! Vladimir Spashko 05 Jan 98 12:20 p.m.

Hello, Vladimir!
It was like this: Vladimir Spashko 05 Jan 98 at 12:19 was pushing speeches to All.
Well, I wrote.

No, hardly. There are still 3.5" That's when they run out... And then you look,
and they will connect the CD, and more what-thread.

In 5020 this is a serious problem. :-((((

What are you doing, guys! Now IMHO almost everyone has already switched to 3.5~ DMS drives,
and there are plenty of floppy disks for them, even bad ones from a PC can be used.

This is the first time I’ve heard about a mass transition to 3.5' drives. There are only a few of these in Rostov...
Well, oh well, fans and those who have even the slightest idea about hardware will move on
without problems, but what should those users do who, besides the "RUN" command, don't know anything
not to mention hardware, and these are an increasingly large percentage of the total number of
users. And not everyone is ready to spend $20 on a disk drive: either not at all or
there is no desire to upgrade the equipment leaving the arena.

Well, this is in Rostov. In Voronezh, even ~30-40% have already transferred.

And they just need to buy a drive and insert it into the slot. The only problem
is that the connector usually also needs to be mounted on a cable, but, IMHO, it
is not difficult, even if you don’t know the “RUN”

Well, about that ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this is unlikely.
