From Andrew Mikheyev To All 10 August 1997

Hello, Serge!

In a letter dated Saturday August 09, 1997, Serge Kuchkin reported to Daniluk Eugene:

DE>> PS: I would advise sprinters to make a sprinter emul so that those who
DE>> are sitting on IBM software can write... although emul may seem unprofitable for you
DE>>, but if I'll be seduced by new opportunities and
DE>> will get tired of tinkering with the IBM emul, then maybe this will make me think about
DE>> buying a real sprinter...

SK> Conclusion: the emulsion should be written _crooked_, and the documentation should be classified ;)))

Exactly! In the best traditions of Soft*10e-6 :)
The software is crooked, half of the API is undocumented...

Regards, Andrew. Sunday August 10, 1997 19:25.

How did you guess ;-))). In fact, some Sprintera modes are just not so easy to emulate. Combining different video modes on one screen,
using 4x(8) 16 million palettes simultaneously, hardware filling
contour objects, scan control, etc.

SK> Best wishes

P.S. By the way, Sprinter will be able to mix a computer signal with a video image!
That is, you can give a task to the computer and watch some kind of movie. As soon as
the task is completed, the computer will display a message right above the image.
