HeYa, All!
Sooo, it looks like it's time to dot all the i's on the topic of subj's.
I see that everyone who expressed their opinion about Enilght believes that
this is the only possible alternative and it should be called nothing less than Enlight. Everyone who claims this also calls these events
“festivals.” Yeah... One gets the impression that none of the Ehi subscribers who actively express their opinion are interested in the demoscene as such.
And no matter what platform the scene is presented on, it must obey
some rules and observe some traditions.
Firstly, these events are simply called: Demo party or
Demomaking party. And there is no need to translate this. Consider this an established
term in your vocabulary.
Secondly, party can be as many things as you like and under different names. They take place, as a rule, in different countries and different cities, at different times of the year.
Although there are precedents that different subj's happen in the same country, this is
rare.
They are held annually and in the same geographical place (as a rule).
Thirdly, each subj has its own face and its own zest. They put it on the rails of show business. We wanted again, purely in Russian... Purely in Russian, and
we got it =)
Besides, each party fights for its prestige and there are a numbermajor subj's, in which it is really prestigious to take prizes. These are
demo parties such as: The Party, Gathering, Scenest, X-97, Rage, Assembly, Intel
Outside...
More detailed coverage of this problem, as well as a brief overview of past
subj's, an overview of them for different platforms you can find in the new and only
scene magazine for speccy, which is called 'Scenegry'!
Coming soon!
The magazine is joint work dR/PGS/PHT!
