This is a message to you from Sergey from Lvov (remember, you
sent two for me). modem?). If you are reading this letter, then we
we managed to connect, which is good news.
I must say that while experimenting with modems, Andrey
(you know him too) found the most optimal circuit solution.
Instead of a transmitting transistorKT940 I installed a composite transistor (KT503E + KT940) according to the Darlington circuit. This modification
aurally expanded the frequency range towards high frequencies, and
practically improved communication at high speeds. In addition,
I increased the resistor that occupies the line (560 Ohms) to 750 Ohms,
thus I achieved the transmission of a signal of greater
amplitude into the line.
I don’t know how important these modifications can be for
Moscow telephone lines, but for Lvov they significantly
improve the operation of the modem as a whole.

I also want to inform you that in Lvov so far, as far as I know, no one has modems. I want to try to fill this “gap” a little. There are people who will help
manufacture and distribute modems in Lviv. The circuit solution, I can’t say that it was roughly “ripped off” from your
modem, since there are a large number of modifications taking into account
our lines and the available equipment. In addition,
I could have come up with a schematic diagram of the modem myself, since
I am a circuit designer, but I did not have a description of the control
signals that go to it, and I didn’t really want to mess around with the program
.
I think that the computer
network will develop in Lvov, MoscowNot only will ZX-NET not lose, but it will also
win. And we will not be able to compete with you in terms of modems,
since the distance between us is one and a half thousand kilometers, and
the road is very expensive.
In connection with this, Victor, I need a test version of the modem,
and also the ZX-NET charter would not hurt. I will be very grateful and
