First of all, why is it bad? A person stops rethinking many things
only after death. Stubbornness, fitting facts to fit an “idea” - that’s what’s not good.
Besides, I don’t remember STEP ever protesting against
release hackers. There was something against interns that were obscene and not so much, there was something against passion for demos, there were calls to make games and systems - I also remember very well. But tap versions were not inserted into the application, and I even remember that I received money for adaptations, and then paid myself. I'll tell you a terrible secret - many versions of the games
included in the application were restored by the old staff of STEP, starting
from the first issues of SPF!

Dim, what are we talking about? Have you heard such a saying - “What a law is it”?..
We have many laws in our country... How many of them are fully implemented?
The same is true here. There is a law, but it will only begin to work when schmucks like Milun receive what they deserve from those who have the right to take advantage of this law. We were silent at the time, because we understood that in our
fucking country nothing really works... And there was no desire to get involved in all this rot
... I don’t care, let them drag and drag. The point is different, the point
is that as soon as you raise your voice a little, they start pointing with a finger and
yelling like a kindergartener: “And yourself, and yourself!!”... Such conversations make you want to puke... We tried to do at least something, we tried to stir up the crowd
of “hackers” and “organizers” who imagine themselves to be the navels of the universe, composed of
diuretic running lines. We triedgive the Spectrum movement the direction everyone needs - the direction of movement, growth... Because they understood that the Spectrum would not last long on
Western raw materials. We squeezed out everything we could... Now
it’s easy to beat the dead lion with some lively donkeys who have waited for that very moment when nothing can be done and, in fact, there is nothing to respond with...
Okay... Sorry for being too emotional. But it's true.

YM> Same here. There is a law, but it will only begin to work when such
YM> schmucks like Milun receive what they deserve from those who have the right
^^^ what-what did you call me? “Schmuck”?
Yuri, this has already crossed all boundaries... I don’t intend to continue to tolerate such
phrases... Don’t you want to apologize for this?
And what about the law... Then it will work when, instead of
retelling and reprinting articles from some sources, people
first consult with lawyers. Then, when the preaching of legal hypocrisy and pharisaism disappears from the pages of some
electronic publications, break and release Western programs, but don’t touch ours.
Then, when these publications teach people to respect the Law, and not just
individuals authors.
YM> Such conversations make me want to puke... We tried to do at least something, we
YM> tried to stir up the crowd of “hackers” and “organizers” who imagine themselves to be the navels of the
YM> universe, made up of diuretic running lines.
And what did you “stir up” it for? The fact that many magazines
have appeared “as a counterbalance to SPF”, about which you alternately say “these are lame
magazines”, then “thanks to us,a lot of magazines"? Because the country
was swept by a wave of low-quality Shippotrebov's programs, to which you gave
the green light, and which drove almost all
users away from the Spectrum?
YM> We tried to give the Spectrum movement the direction everyone needed -
YM> direction of movement, growth...
"With good intentions..." (C) There are two ways to develop something...
You went second, instead of quality - quantity.
YM> Because we understood that the spectrum would not last long on Western raw materials
YM> We squeezed out everything we could...
Let me. to doubt... Instead of feedback with the authors of the programs, you were engaged in joyful lisp "oh how good, oh, a new program has come out, oh
well done." Instead of teaching people computer literacy, which they will need in the future, you invented and put forward your own views on the subject. this or that event... More precisely, you followed the course of the "father of Inforcom", who at first in every possible way encouraged people to engage in hacking, inspired this work, and then suddenly realized that this was a double-edged sword, and began to just as furiously
brand "these filthy hackers".
YM> Now It’s easy to beat a dead lion with some lively donkeys who
YM> have waited for that very moment when nothing can be done and,
YM> in fact, there is nothing to doanswer...
By “donkeys” you meant me, and by “lion” you meant yourself? You are sooooooo
very mistaken...
1) I started “beating” you back when you were a lion (more precisely, you thought
that you were a lion).
2) Unlike you, I am not going to leave the spectrum.
3) Unlike you, the most important thing for me in the program is quality, not "big name".
4) Unlike you, I have never indulged and am not going to indulge lamers.
5) Unlike you, I do not say loud phrases about how much I love the Spectrum, and I do not stop publishing the magazine and games because I am now
paid for it 300-400 thousand less.
And what do you mean by “nothing to answer”? Is this about the fact that you no longer have room to run into me? About the fact that there is no longer SPF and On-Line, in which
you could run into someone?
YM> Okay... Sorry for being too emotional. But this is the truth.
More precisely, it is a complete lie, albeit an emotional one.
And to be even more precise, this is another show off... Who did you write this letter to? Grigoriev, with whom you can talk on the phone, with whom
you are sitting on the same node, and who completely shares this point of view of yours?
That’s enough of a lie. You wrote all this “To: ALL”, so that everyone would once again
see what the “stupid ass and schmuck Milun” brought to the “greatLev Matveev."
P.S. By the way, the same thing - sorry for being emotional.

EM> About the fact that the country

No, you just fell from the moon. Sorry, from Dune.... People began to flee from the Spectrum in 1994... We were just collecting it...
[Milunia virus has been skipped]
EM> And what do you mean by “nothing to answer”? Is this about the fact that
EM> you have no place to run into me? About the fact that there is no more SPF and
EM> On-Line, in which you could run into someone?
No, by God, it’s like in that joke... “Mom, he would have called me,,.yu”...
Milun, can you talk to yourself? You're good at it...
"No answer" = "write a program"...
Tired.

Hello Dmitry !
Sunday January 04 1998 20:42, Dmitry Grigoryev ─── Max Romanoff:
DG> PS: That's it, STEP announces its self-dissolution. Now we are all independent individuals.
DG> STEP no longer exists. If you and others like you cannot understand it any other way,
DG>. Is the herd feeling in the blood or does this childhood never fade away? I
DG> I don’t blame you, Max, you just have nothing else to complain about...
As far as I understand, now the STEP brand should disappear? Or will “personal initiative” begin again and “we can’t stop him”?
And, pray tell, why bother about “herd instinct” and offend
your interlocutors? Remember for the future: “If a legal entity ceases to exist, then _no one_ has the right to sign on behalf of that entity anymore.” And this is not Max and my nit-picking... IMHO, It’s just with herd instinct that everything is in order - we don’t sign our creations with the name of
groups that no longer exist, just because of the “prestige of the brand.”

YM> About lame magazines we can say that they are lame.
Only one thing comes to mind - “I fight because I fight” (C)
Porthos.
Look at the code of all SPF and the design of the first issues, as well as their content.
You will find a lot of this...
YM> But there are so many
YM> magazines that, by definition, all of them cannot be lame, and therefore we
YM> have the right to say that thanks to us the process has begun. Questions?
None. Although. How many of these “so many” have you seen yourself? Or again
"people say"? As far as I remember, you couldn’t even name more than
2-3 names in the questionnaire (as well as your entire group).

MR> that's what you mean....
It seems to me that this is what they are always talking about. For example, look at their
definition of the word “lamer” - “Saying something bad about someone means lamer
because you are militant.”

YM>> run away from the spectrum in 1994... We were just putting it together...
EM> What are you talking about???????!!!!!!! In 1994 itself ????????!!!!!!!! But here in Samara, this year was one of the peaks.
The first “majors” who began to fall from Speccy - somehow: Nikitin, all sorts of
Software, left in 1994... Many followed them... This was the case in Moscow... Moreover
by 1994 it became finally clear that in the West The Spectrum is dead. After all
throughout 1993, the amount of new Western software was steadily decreasing... More and more
(sorry for the pun) some Spanish crap and “morons” were being released. The mass
Moscow buyer began to slowly move to iBiem and Amiga... But this,
of course, was only the beginning of the process, so it was not felt in the provinces, where
Spectrum continued to be promoted thanks to the same Inforcom...
EM> Oh yes, sorry. You Muscovites, and even more so the stepovites, know better.
What about me? Did he talk about Samara?
EM> Then do as you did before - write some article or
EM> story. For example, "Virtual syndrome - 2". :)))
I'll think about your proposal :))) If your magazine sends me a fee ;))
