About CP/M
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Sergey Tsvetkov → To All 22 March 1998
Hello everyone,
I hope fortune has not turned against you... ;))
Reading letters on the topic "CP/M vs TR-DOS" it seemed to me that not all readers fully
imagine what CP/M is and in general, is it worth comparing them.
CP/M (abbreviation 'Control Program/Monitor' or 'Control Program for
Microcomputers'), one of the first operating systems for microcomputers. It
was written by Harry Kildall, who founded the company "Digital Research", and became
the standard for microcomputers equipped with 8-bit microprocessors
Intel 8080 and Zilog Z80. In the 1980s it was replaced by MS-DOS, created for
16-bit microprocessors.
Always yours Sergey Tsvetkov.
Good luck!
