FIGHT FOR LIFE
Light. Lots of light. I sink down,
surrounded by a glow. Forests, fields, rivers, mountains are visible... I choose. Let there be hills and now I am standing at the foot of a small mountain covered with green grass. I look around
everything around. Hills and mountains on the horizon. I
selected one of the hills and realized that behind it
the answer was waiting for me; I went. Birds
flyed above me and sang their songs. Animals walked nearby and looked at me friendly. Nature was generous with good
weather. I walked past an apple tree and picked one fruit. A new one grew right there in its place. I walked...
The sun was setting behind the mountains located
in the west. I was not tired, although I walked for a very long time. It seemed that my hill, comparable in size to a small mountain, was not getting any closer. I finished eating the apples I picked from the apple tree that I met at the beginning of the journey.
I was thirsty and, having climbed another hill, I saw a spring at the foot. Having drunk enough, I continued
my way.
The sun disappeared and twilight fell on the earth. There were mountains to my left, but they were very far away, as it seemed to me.
I continued walking. Losing track of time, I
walked into the night. The cries of some animals reached me and pleasantly irritated my imagination. Unprecedented animals were born in my brain. which subsequentlyI
met. That’s how I met the Unicorn.
“Have a good hunt,” I wished him.
The Unicorn looked at me and waved his head cheerfully. At the same time, his horn described an even circle. This luminous disk hung in the air and silently called to me. I brought my hand into the circle and it disappeared. I took my hand
out of the circle and shook my head negatively.
“Thank you for the offer, but I have a
Goal,” I told the Unicorn.
He looked at me in surprise and jumped
into this disk. The unicorn disappeared, and then the circle
began to get smaller until it became invisible.
I followed further. My long journey
tired me and I decided to take a nap. Having passed
a hollow, I discovered soft moss, as if
had grown here specially for me.
I lay down on this good moss and fell asleep.
Waking up, I washed myself in another spring
and had breakfast with pears. Having gathered a little of them into my cloak, I walked on.
I walked and looked at my hill, reasoning
with myself about the meaning of life. Without expecting such conclusions from myself, I became convinced that such a life in unity with nature is the only important goal in life. It was still two days' journey to the hill. I followed
further. An animal
resembling a cat, but capable
of talking, joined me. He met me when I was quenching my thirst with crystal clear water from a spring. The cat approached the source and,
noticingme, was not afraid, but sat down
opposite me and looked straight into my
eyes. I met his gaze and we sat for a long time, looking into each other's souls.
Then he asked me:
- Where are you going, wanderer?
- To the end of the world, - I answered him, not at all embarrassed by his ability
to talk, - to that big hill.
And I pointed to the hill, which already seemed like a mountain.
- Okay, we're on our way, - said The cat got up.
I also got up, took the cloak on which
I was sitting, and walked towards my hill...
... The sunset was very beautiful. I deliberately stopped on the western side of the rampart, spread out my cloak and invited the Cat. He
thanked and refused. I sat down and began
watching the movement of the sun.
The clouds stood out with bright luminous
borders with the sky. The sun was slowly
hiding behind the stone ridge, casting
long shadows from the stones on the ground at
the foot of the mountain. The shadows fancifully lengthened, lengthened, until the entire Sun disappeared behind the rock. Dusk was falling again. I lingered on the shaft and waited for the first star to appear. The first
star to shine was in the north, right above my
mountain, and I considered this a good sign.
The cat disappeared somewhere, but after some
time he returned, holding something in his teeth. He came closer and laid down his burdenon
the grass.
“Help yourself, wanderer,” the Cat suggested, carefully separating a medium-sized piece.
“Thank you, but I’m full,” I thanked
him for the offer.
When the animal had finished its meal, we continued
our hike. The hill-mountain approached
unevenly and by morning we were at
the foot.
Stopping, the Cat was silent for a while, and
then said:
- I shouldn’t go any further. Farewell, wanderer.
- Okay, goodbye. But who are you? - I hastened
to ask.
The cat smiled and said:
- Cat...
And he disappeared, and I began my
climbing the mountain.
The ascent was not difficult. There were only two difficult sections, but I managed to overcome them. The last meters, as usual
I climbed at a minimum speed, but
here it is - another small victory.
I looked around. There were only hills and
mountains around. In the distance in the east I noticed the sea.
It seemed to me that there was a
Cat at the foot and looking at me; just in case,
I waved my hand at him.
I sat down and waited...
The sky began to slowly disperse.
Stars and black Space appeared. The sky
opened halfway and a
huge staircase descended. He began his ascent along it. I walked and walked, but the goal of my ascent was not visible. When I
looked back, I saw that nothing
existed except this staircase, andAll that was left for me was the ascent into the unknown.
... My thoughts left me. I was just feet stepping in the void. One leg up,
lower, the next one up,
lower. Step, one more, two steps, more...
Then there were no more of these mechanical
calculations left. My mind was blank. Not a single thought wandered through my mind. I
slowly woke up...
... Chuev's face, the ceiling with
plaster falling off.

- Well, thank God, I got out! - the voice of the super agent is heard through the thickness of the water, then it becomes clearer and then I woke up in the hospital. I got out of bed, went to the table, poured myself a glass of juice, drank it and lay back, in front of the amazed public. - Well, damn it! - Andrey began, but the nurse quickly shut him up
and pushed him out the door.
- Howare you feeling? - she asked
me.
- Great, but what actually happened
? - I asked.
- Yes, actually, nothing: they fell from a tower
25 meters high onto concrete, they didn’t break anything, even a concussion and that was minor, - the offended
sister reprimanded, probably because I stayed alive and this added more work to her.
She tired me and I asked to leave
the dying man alone. I lay there and lay there
and fell asleep.
Yes, it’s not easy to destroy an SBM employee,
especially his head. Here.
