ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Roman Petrov To All 11 December 1997

Hello! Dear All!

Everything! I have received permission and I hasten to share with you the emulator of this wonderful machine. In general, my opinion about Sam is RULEZZZ! The Sprinter, if you believe the creators, is really cooler, but the fact that there is software for this machine is a big plus for Sam.

So, now on. In addition to the emulator itself, the archive contains the Samdisk,
Samtoms and Sdir programs. You can figure out what they do for yourself - it’s not difficult. I also
attached Surprise Demo (by ESI) and E-Tracker (by ESI).

Those who read my previous letters on Sam know how to get a disk image.
But nevertheless, I repeat: the archive contains the file Utils.td0. We burn it
with a teledisk onto a real disk. Let's try to consider it Samdisk. If it doesn't work out, then turn on the Spectrum, load the Afrodita v3.0 program, and copy the disc, not forgetting to enable the Pattern option (!). After this operation SamDisk
should read your floppy disk. Using the Samtoms program you can read
and write files to a Sam floppy disk. Well, that’s all.

For those who want to admire some of Sam’s graphical capabilities,
I’ll provide a small program in BASIC:

1 mode 4
2 cls
3 for a=0 to 7
4 for b=0 to 15
5 pen b: rem You can write ink instead of pen, that’s it will put pen equally :-)
6 circle 128.88,a*16+b
7 next b:next a
8 for a=0 to 111
9 for b=1 to 15
10 palette b,a+b-1
11 next b
12pause 1
13 next a
14 goto 8

The biggest drawback of the emulator is that it doesn’t seem to be able
to write to virtual disks :( That’s why I haven’t seen it on Sam
except for Etracker. Today I will download Lyra 3 (by ESI) in Teledisk format.
I hope it’s there unpacked.

PS In the emulator Esc = Break
PPS In order to load Dos from the virtual disk, you need to type BOOT.

With respect, Roman aka Megus of Brain Wave corp.

... Or are you unforgiven too?
