Complex Compo '99 Viewer, Titanic Art and News
D-Man reports on software releases from the received disk and encloses an image viewer for Complex Compo '99. He sends pictures for Titanic to Fatality and asks for rules of upcoming parties in Nizhny Novgorod and CAFe '99. He shares progress on the Life Forms project, 4k intros by Senat and VAV ("WISH" for Assembly and an entry for CC'99), the status of Snake's HMM, and Snake's new TV job. He also encloses a Spectrum newspaper clipping from Trud i Zhizn and notes a bug in the BD#7 bootloader
Hi MMA & all, all, all...!
Finally writing you a reply. Sorry for the delay! We have released some stuff from the Internet disk and will release more, so thanks!
We made a viewer for Complex Compo '99 here. Don't know if it was worth making or not. Maybe the organizers of CCompo '99 will make one themselves. But anyway... Generally, look for it on the disk. If your mouse suddenly acts up, hold <CAPS> during loading. The shell is of course lame :-(, and on non-Pentagon machines the arrow at the top might disappear :-( It's just that the viewer was put together in a hurry. The "MY_KINGDOM" picture is rulez! (in b/w, but on a color display not so much).
I'm sending you 2 pictures of "TITANIC" for FTL. If possible, please forward them to Fatality with our best regards. And throw them our address just in case, let them write! OK?! By the way, I heard there is already a demo version of this game, but unfortunately I haven't seen it :-(
How is your Commodore 128 doing?
About the partyes. Yesterday I spoke with Andrew FER on the phone, he said a party is being planned in Nizhny Novgorod, but we know nothing about it :-( Maybe you have the rules for it. We also don't really know much about CAFe '99 (we know it will take place, and that's all :-(). So if you have rules for them, plz... As for CC'99, we will of course try our hardest to go, but the chance of us being there is very small. But Nizhny Novgorod is right next to us, though we still need to find out what kind of party it is. Spy passed his driving test, and we had a crazy idea of driving to CC'99 in an 'eared' Zaporozhets :) classy, right? :)))
As for us, we are still working on "Life Forms". There's some progress now. Senat finally fixed the monitor for Sailor, so now he seems to be coding something. Senat himself has taken on a 4k intro; if it works out, it will be rulez! Last Saturday we traveled to Vladimir. Snake is still making HMM, I don't even know when he'll finish, but he promises it will be soon. He conceived (and even started) another game, but says it will only happen after Heroes. Looks like Snake got FIDO access at work. He got a job at Vladimir TV and now he's going to render intros and commercials on Silicon Graphics! At least that's what he says. By the way, he is waiting for your reply, wondering if you took offense at him or something. Sat is doing nothing — exams, exam session & etc...
Paracels asks you to describe the picture in more detail — where the woman is looking, at what, & etc...
And our color monitor is currently at Snake's place, we still haven't picked it up.
VAV made another 4k called "WISH", which he plans to submit to Assembly. Well, I won't go on about VAV's skills — another rulez! He's also making a 4k (Army of cox) for CC'99. By the way, VAV dyed his hair black :))) Seriously.
I'm enclosing another article from "Trud i Zhizn" about Spectrum. I didn't send the entire newspaper (who wants to read about our local city problems?), just the youth supplement. By the way, the photo there is from FT'98. There are three mistakes, but PLS will write about that himself.
Well, that seems to be all!
C Ya!
P.S. Your bootloader from BD#7 is buggy — try inserting an empty disk without <B>.
P.P.S. I don't even know what to write on the disk :-( You probably have it all already! :-))
Write back!
Dmitriy (D-Man/EI)
