Over the past year, throughout Russia and beyond
outside its borders the number of
various festivals with the participation
ZX Spectrum computer. There was a lot about this
said and written. These were the evaluators
articles, mainly comparisons and reports about
how they entered, what they saw, how long
were waiting for the start and who was drunk and who
there was none, etc. For some reason now
fashion rather dirty criticism
organizing committee than understanding and human
desire to help achieve the best
result, although, of course, there is
interspersed with positive reviews.
Probably few people really
thought about how much energy, labor and
monetary investments were spent on
carrying out one or anotherfestival,
which is organized first
for you and me. Yes, the lack of
hotels and prizes, but I'm sure that
most participants arrive first
It's not the turn for this. Friendly atmosphere
new acquaintances and, of course, communication and
heated debates truly give rise to
an irresistible desire to create something new
previously unseen.
I was lucky this year I was able to
go and participate in two at once
festivals: Chaos Constructions and Paradox.
First of all, I was surprised by the atmosphere
festival CC'99 - calm and friendly,
despite the presence of representatives
completely different platforms.
I liked the registration process
visitors and voting system. In
time for viewing competition works by the public
reacted quickly, there was a genuine
laughter and applause.
In between nominations
there was a heated discussion about the viewed
works Opinions were different, each
expressed his point of view. Interesting
was to communicate with famous people,
learn a lot about plans and
achievements. As they say, hear from
firsthand, without distortion of the truth.Areas provided for
holding the Paradox festival, truly
they were not small. Huge hall with high
ceiling, soft chairs, advertising
sponsors' signs - all this created
the impression of a serious approach
organizers for this project. I do a lot
communicated with different people, mainly on
Speccy theme. It was interesting to hear
opinions of others, impressions of what they saw.
How do they evaluate my work and what do they think?
the look is wrong, unrealistic and what is mine
error. Here the public was more open and
sociable. Friendly atmosphere and
mutual understanding was always present
nearby.
Frankly speaking, I didn't want to
go home. After the festival closed I
stayed a little in the hospitable city
Rostov, but that's a completely different story.
It is known from reliable sources that
that in 2000 it will be organized again
hosting Chaos Constructions festivals
and Paradox with mandatory participation
platform ZX Spectrum, and it is also planned
holding other festivals in different
corners of our vast country...
